Topic Dog Boards / Showing / I Think I May Be Crazy

I have been looking at the premium lists for upcoming shows and there is a competition for Team Showing.

Rules:
Four Dogs of the same breed (not necessarily the same sex) and must be handled by one person on one lead.  Dogs may be spayed or neutered.

Mom and I were talking, about how cool it would be, to enter this.  The time of the shows, 3 of the dogs we could use would be 6-9 month jr pups (Reba just turning 6 months the week before, and Star and James one week older).

But it sounds so cool!  Am I crazy?  How would I even train this in older, veteran show dogs, let alone puppies!

Yes you are very crazy lol....but that must mean I`m crazy as well  because I think it sounds cool too!! lol...Have no idea how you would train towards it but it would be a fantastic sight to see once perfected, probably would be a lot easier with your small breed than my Komondor though....Hmmm now that could be interesting 4 Koms one lead one handler = me flat on my face lol

good luck if you do attempt it! :)

LOL now that would be interesting to see (joking! well, the 4 Kom thing yea, but not you flat on your face - unless the look on your face is priceless LOL)

I told mom all 4 min pins would walk exactly the same - jumping around on their rear legs!!!  Doesnt say the dogs have to have all 4 feet on the ground! Well, make that 16 feet!

If I do it, must upload to YouTube and post a link me thinks, as no one would believe it!

I've done brace with 2 dogs on 1 lead, but never 4 - sounds great fun if you can get them to behave though!

The only info I can find on Team showing, is of a picture of a man who did it with 4 Maltese back in the late 40's.  I found it in the Dog Show Book, profiling the events of Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show since it began, to I think 2005.

Cant even find any information on how you would train a normal Brace team, let alone a Brace of 4!
