Can anyone tell me if I can discover someones IP number from an email they sent me?....and if so....how please?!

You can USUALLY but how depends on what e-mail programme you are using -I only know how to do it in my own. :) So if you can let us know what you use hopefully there will be a way of working it out. Also if the email address used to send the mail is a Google one (googlemail, gmail) it cannot be traced as the IP address given will just be Google's headquarters.

This is true for nearly all IP addresses, knowing the IP address will probably give you the company it originated from (or the ISP) it won't tell you who sent it - why do you want to know?

No a LOT of IP addresses will give you the area the mail came from, often even a town -and not the ISP's one. I check it a lot.
