When I had my passes through for Windsor, I was also sent a greyhound exhibitor pass in error, under my name. i didnt notice it until last minute and then went out of my way to track down the hounds owner, and to contact her and tell her abut the error so that she wouldnt have any probs on the day. I never heard a word from her , so at the show I  found her and asked if she had received all my messages? She looked at me like I was from another planet and just said "oh yes, I got it sorted out"
Well i was a bit annoyed there wasnt so much as a thankyou..........so....... just had my houndshow passes through, and guess what......i have a greyhound pass again!!!:(    Dont think ill bother trying to help this time!!!

I am just like you go out of my way for people , it really isnt worth it most of the time ...remember you are the better person...

And as for the ticket pop it in the bin!!!!

I took a bit of video at Windsor of someone winning quite a prestigious award.
A very big first for them and their dog.

I took some time to put a title on it, edit it so most was of their dog and emailed it to them.
Not a word, not a bloomin' word....so, giving them the benifit of the doubt, I assumed they dont know how to open it or dont check their email often, I forgot about it.

Saw them on Saturday...." Oh Yeah we got that - thanks"   :-(   ( Short for...big deal)

Ah well we get our reward in heaven ....apparently.

Wow I would have been so pleased.  I haven't any ringside pics of any of my memorable wins, only the odd commercially taken photos which with copyright releases etc always seems to cost an arm and a leg.

I sent some more video to someone else taken the same day and he was over the moon " I'll keep it for ever- thanks". He had made up 5 or 6 champions but never had any video of the event.

Cant please some people though.

So would I! When my boy got his ticket the chap who photographs a lot of our events caught loads of photos of us, and very kindly emailed me them all even though of course he only put the best one on his website, and with his permission we used them on our own website. And at Crufts this year I was taking pics of my friend's dog in the ring, and as she was standing near 2 other acquaintances I took a few of their dogs too and sent them over, and they were both very pleased, saying they rarely got any pics of their dogs showing. Just be reassured that most people would be very happy!

People amaze me sometimes.  What is it with people's attitudes now.

I know, I'm routinely shocked, two weeks ago i found out one of my good friends (recently lost his job) had no money for food or loo roll, emptied my cupboards and freezer and sent my other half with a large parcel of food (including a joint of welsh black beef that I'd been saving, I'm such a fool...), cleaning stuff etc. and when I saw him next he didn't say a word. I was a bit annoyed at with him for while but I would still do it again though because he is my friend and I hate to think of people being hungry. I don't know why I get shocked because I have found most people my own age are lacking in good manners

Could be although appreciative of the gesture....he was embarrassed....folks react quite oddly sometimes towards that kind of charity...(even though they are grateful) .

A reply to an e-mail hardly would affect the embarressed no??  no matter how people are a thank you is all that would have been expected. 

Didn't think of that, you are right; he was probably gutted he had no money for food and may have felt very low about other people knowing his situation. I don't understand people not saying thank you for the other favours people mentioned though :)

Although he should have thanked you, he was probably hugely embarrassed and possibly offended at what, if he was feeling vulnerable and unhappy at his circumstances, could be misinterpreted as 'Lady of the Manor grandly handing out charity to the serfs'. Personal pride can be upset very easily, and we need to be so careful that our genuine attempts to help a friend aren't taken the wrong way.

Just makes me realise why I enjoy spending my time with dogs and not people!

I did this for a breeder we once got a pup from. She (breeder) had 2 young dogs win puppy classes at Crufts this year, I sent her email and text and got nothing in return!!!! I wont be bothering again.

so send a thank you card...personally i think appreciation is a wonderful thing to give and receive. i love doing stuff for other folk and am simply happy to get thanks for it (perhaps i am needy, it is not the worst of defects :)) but by doing so i have just been given a brilliant opportunity at work without even asking. a little niceness goes a long way :)

Tooolz if you are ever around for one of my shows i;d love for your to video my boys. I have now got a couple of photos which my friends have taken and also a recent win at a breed show which is online now. I'll even pay you to do it.. hehe..

I found that those who are rude in dog showing give of this air that they are far superior than yourselves, is it because they have been in dog showing longer, had better results or the ones who take it far too seriously?? The latter seems to ring true for me.
