Topic Dog Boards / Health / chewing/licking paw problem

Hello, I am new here but posting this on as many dog forums as I can in the hope I can get some help.

See here for pictures of the problem:

Where the white arrow is, points to a brownish lump that is painful when pressed.

One vet said shes chewing/licking her paws because her anal glands were full and the other said it looks like something had gone into her paw and the brownish colouring was discharge. We have been told to keep using diluted hibiscrub to keep it clean and moniter how she goes.

Any advice for one worried owner please?

From the first picture it looks as though something has gone into her foot, and the brown staining will be from saliva because she's been licking it.

I can't really make out the second picture, sorry.

I would have wanted my vet to investigate what, if anything, was inside the foot.  I would have asked for a mild sedation and have them check it out properly, just to put my mind at rest.  If there's nothing in there, fine.  But, if there is, her problems are not going to clear up any time soon.

Thanks for looking. On that first picture that brown line is not a cut but one of the brownish clumps. I must admit it does look like a wound in that photo.

I did mention a proper investigation on her foot but the vet said she would have to be given an anaesthetic and advised against it for now??
