I am so excited and tickled pink for my young owner (aged 9) her parent bought Ossie for her plus YKC and Lab Club of Scotland Membership.. and she has waited a long time on this pup...
She lives Locally.. and I have been coaching her.. I go on a Thursday, and give her one excersise per week to train with.. plus meeting up with them at my ringcraft..
Beanies pups are just 4months old, and today was our ringcraft fun day .. Pedigree classes plus the usual best waggy tail etc..
Sadly I was unable to be there due to another more pressing meeting.. BUT
I have just had a phone call..
Ossie took
2nd Cutest pup (19entries)
3rd pup the judge wanted to take home (15 entries)
5th Waggiest tail (15 entries)
She is over the moon, as she was getting a little despondant.. she is trying too hard to be perfect, and this has just given her a massive confidence boost
So.. me.. jumping for joy lol.. anyone would think my pup had just won a CC at a champ show lol .. how sad is that lol
as this was held under KC rules and regs, at 4 months old he could not be entered into the pedigree classes, shame, but never mind lol..

oh that's lovely kay well done to ossies mum! wonderful and its not sad either you dafty!

No....this is good, positive, happiness sharing stuff.
So glad you did share, it's what makes this place (CD) such fun sometimes.
Karen :)

:) :) I remember a lot of days when I saw you jumping for joy, so can well imagine the picture. Well done to Ossie and his young handler.

That is great Kay. A great start for one so young and the best place for children really to start. Please to hear she is getting such good support from the breeder :-)

Thats the kind of groups I want to enter my pug and shihtzu into as I think the pressure of a breeds class would get to me..lol. I'd be too nervous!!

Actually.. when I was over yesterday giving another little lesson.. I mentioned that everyone had congratulated her.. but I got a smacked wrist lol.. .. I got her age wrong.. she has only just turned 8 in April..
A super photo of Jessica and Ossie are going in the local paper this weekend :-) If its online.. I will sneak a link past admin :-) ;-)
There is another post somewhere about dedicated breeders and the care they give to raise a litter but it's here that some of the pet puppy people could look. This is a very good example of what great breeders can do for their puppies, their owners, and their breed in general. :)
Well done Kay, to you and your young owner.

Well.. its been hectic here over the last couple of days.. long story.. shortened (a little lol)
Ossie is now getting to be a rather large puppy, and of course Jessica at just 8years old, is dealing with a wayward Lab lol.. so after speaking to her parents last week, I decided best thing for Ossie was some intensive obedience training.. basics, walking to heel, leave etc.. enough that Jessica could handle him without too much worry..
The only way I could do this was to bring Ossie home with me.. but.. no point in training the dog, if the handler does not get trained either.. so I have a houseguest for a few days.. Jessica and puppy are here with me... They arrived on thursday afternoon.. and both pup and Jessica have been put through the mill lol... I don't take prisoners..
Today, we went to and Agricultural show (Fenwick) and entered Jessica and Ossie into a couple of classes (sporting dog etc) AND Junior handling.. 8-11years..
She got booted in one class, a 4th in another.. but Ossie was beginning to settle and Jessica put all her handling training to good work...
Into the Junior Handling class with 22 other junior handlers.. and she took 1st :-)
then the older Junior handling class was judged, and Jessica was called back in for the challenge..
She won the challenge, has a humungous rossette for Best Junior Handler, and a lovely Trophy..
WELL DONE JESSICA... I am so proud of the hard work she has put into both herself, and my puppy...
ps... I took Best Puppy In Show with Nora :-) Pales into insignificance really lol...
Well done to Jessica :-) Let's hope they do well at the bigger shows as they grow :-D
It's good that the younger generation are getting interested. We have a couple of Junior Handlers in Munsters that do well at shows (One doesn't live a million miles away either ;-) )

God that is dedication indeed ;-)
Brilliant win for her and well done for Nora.
I picked up a 2nd JW point today... 2 more to go. Had to beg another 2 handlers as the others never turned up again. Hard work I tell you ..

...and people ask what makes a good breeder!! Above and beyond the call of duty Kay, well done for putting so much of your time and effort into helping Jessica and a huge congratulations to Jessica and Ossie, and of course the beautiful Nora and her handler on your successes today :-D
