Posted on another list and thought you all may appreciate the warning:

PERMISSION TO CROSSPOST

Please be aware of a Mrs Lilly from Lincoln who is forever purchasing puppies and sometimes older dogs and sending them into Rescue. She has recently purchased a puppy from a non club member. She pays good money for these puppies £500/£600. This puppy is at the vets at the moment because it is passing large volumes of blood, she rang me asking if I would take it in if it is going to cost her a lot of money to get it well... Of course I said I would, but she would need to speak to her vet as we must know if it is contagious and to call me if she wants it to come in... If this goes ahead, as it will, be it this time or some time in the near future, as to date we have taken in 11 puppies and adults from her. We have no powers to stop her buying these dogs. I have asked the RSPCA and the local council if they can do anything, but all are powerless, as when these little ones are with her they are very well treated and fed, kept beautifully clean, and loved! As strange as it sounds!... I have spoken to her vet and the receptionist on several occasions requesting the history of the dogs. They are convinced she suffers from a syndrome like Munchausen syndrome and M S by proxy, as she will often say that she is going into hospital to undergo a major operation, and is always taking the dogs to the vets for one reason or another.  It's very frustrating, I cannot make an enemy of this woman as I need to be there to take these dogs as and when necessary. Her husband is in cahoots with her as he always seems to be around when we go and collect the dogs!  I can only keep giving her name out, in the hope it will spread and people won't sell her a puppy/dog, but there is always someone taken in by her.. Because she sounds so very feasable!

Please pass this on to other lists and breeder friends.

I think this will be of help to any of the decent breeders out there. Its a shame that she isn't getting the help she so needs.
