well i guess i should of had the local radio station on this morning after last nights rain & with the flood warnings in place i think this show was a sure threat to have been cancelled after a whole days rain non stop yesterday.  thought traffic was flowing too easy over the motorway bridge this morning, got to the roundabout at linstock to be told by a polite police man the show is cancelled.
   i feel sorry for the main show committee & organisers for the hard work they do year on year to put on this fantastic show.... the river was level with the banks so the show was cancelled on the advice of police & enviroment agency at a meeting in the early hours...
   fancy silly me not checking before we left if the show was still going ahead...good job we live not to far from the venue.....

                

I was up at 6.30 this morning .. shoulda stayed in bed .. I opened laptop and a friend who was also entered msn'd me to let me know. 

The organisers must have been on the go right through the night.. when I checked the website at 6.30 this morning.. it already had the cancellation notice up (.. and I am soooo sorry, it never crossed my mind that I could have put the notice up on here) :-(

hey kay no worries, it was my fault for not having the radio on.....

Oh well, I never thought to check on the website, so we also had a wasted journey. Up at 6.30am, then 2 hours travel. That will teach me to check before we set off.

you must have been well cheesed off when you got there, we only live a 10 minute drive away & we was, so i can imaging after a 2 hour drive how fed up you must have been......
   like yourself it never crossed my mind to check the shows website, after seeing the general show secretary on the news last night saying that a bit of rain will not stop the show, it will go ahead & to just bring youl wellies.....

that will teach me to not stop up till the early hours grooming dogs & bathing... the thing is before i went to bed @ 2am i checked the enviroment agencies website & flood warnings were in place for the river around the showground in 3 sections but that didnt stop us going.....
