Sorry but why go into such a business if you can't afford the insurance?  It's just not worth the risk these days.

Blimey,I wouldn't leave my coat on show in a car i'd left, even if i'd emptied the pockets and the coat wasn't worth stealing! What a mad thing to do.

I can't believe anyone would carry round 500k of jewellery in their car to sell at country fairs! This was an accident waiting to happen, of course he would be followed by undesirables, they must have thought Xmas came quick this year......lol It beggars belief that he said one ring was worth £16,000.....now who would carry that kind of money around with them to buy a ring at a fair outdoors, not to mention you would be worried the gems were fake. I bet supermarket security vans don't carry that kind of money in one go & they usually have a police escort. He's so lucky he wasn't killed for that jewellery...i think he had a lucky escape in some respects.

That is one of the supermarkets we we use and I was no where near there on the day it happened, honest officer :-)

Stupid man, I have no sympathy at all.

Are we REALLY supposed to believe that this man was carting around HALF A MILLION POUNDS worth of jewellery with NO insurance ???  After being robbed of £400,000 worth in January???

And who on earth is likely to want to buy a £16,000 ring at a country show?   Was it the Royal Windsor Horse Show?  Was he expecting Prince Phillip to fancy a bauble for the missus?

Can't help thinking this is an elaborate fantasy of some kind ;)

ETA - And if he can afford to buy HALF A MILLION POUNDS worth of jewellery why can't he afford a trolley to put it on???

what an absolute wazzock  - he could come up with all the excuses in the world but NOTHING excuses the fact he was plain stupid. It does seem odd that he sells such expenisve jewlerry at county shows (??) plus has no insurance ??? and why go to the papers when youve been such a class clown??!!

Something sounds suspect about it all.
