Topic Dog Boards / General / Help - I think he thinks I'm coming into season!

My entire 5-year old male Australian Shepherd has today become besotted about me. If I sit anywhere he is desperately trying to lick my bare arms. If I walk he is tucking into the heelwork position. If I stand he will try to mount me which, needless to say, I don't allow so he again tucks into the heelwork position. He is driving me nuts, yet I know he is trying desperately to please me. It is as if I'm coming into season.

Yesterday I had my first mammography (breast screening x-ray). This is the only thing I can think of that could be the cause. Has anyone heard of this happening and if so how long does it last?

My bitch Cali use to do this to me after I had been to the vets with either of the other 2 or if I had been to the doctors or hospital maybe with a friend. She never did it at any other time so I think it must have been the smell or something

You certainly could be right, but I had the test done yesterday and he only started like this today. Also, it's been getting worse as the day progressed. He's five years old and this is the first time I've had this happen to me.

Having said this he obviously has a good sense of smell and very much looks after his pack. On at least three occasions he has told me of problems with the other dogs which have meant earlier vet treatment for them. He's never wrong. If I hadn't had this test yesterday I would be quite worried but I feel fine so have to assume it is caused by the test.
