my puppy is 7 months old and has always rolled when i,m running him round the showring
will this go as he matures and grows into his frame more?
the exhibitor in front of me said to me as i ran back to my place in the line" My has nt he got a roll"
She,s got me worried now as they are suppose to have a level top line
Is it a puppy fat roll? ;-) Most of my pups have had a bit of a roll at first until they have started to mature. some worse than others. On the whole it tends to become normal movement by the time they have gone through the teenage phase.

There is always the option that you have a promising puppy and that person is attempting to put you off! This is not an uncommon tactic, especially if you are new to showing or to that particular breed. I always tell my members if something like that happens to them ; smile sweetly say thankyou and cheer inside, who bothers about dogs that are no competition?
Chat to other exhibitors and/or your breeder you should then be able to decide if you pup has a chance of being placed at shows. If this is your first show puppy, don't expect miracles, be prepared to learn the craft of 'showing' and Enjoy who knows you may become as addicted as the rest of us. Have fun!!

Could be just a puppy fat roll, but do ensure that it isn't due to excess weight. i am sure it will sort itself out when he matures. A lot of puppies roll to some degree.

I agree about people trying to put you off . I not that long ago either had a breeder of more than 40 yrs in the breed ask me if my girl was a fawn (not a popular colour) when she is obviously a brown and for someone with her experience not to know the difference what other reason than to try and make me uneasy of course she got the 1st but I was placed 4th oo14 and we have beaten her a good few times too.
Ignore her and enjoy yourself with your puppy.
