Hi, I am worried that my little Shih Tzu has swallowed something she shouldnt.  She is eating and drinking but not quite herself, she is staying by me where ever I go and almost seems frightened,  I can hear her every so often almost gulping and swallowing (almost like hiccups but its not) I wonder if she has swallowed something and that its stuck?  She hasnt been sick at all.  These things always happen at the weekend dont they?

there isnt really any point asking people on the net, as we werent acround to see what she has been up to, and we arent vets. all we can say is you might be right, who knows?
it could be all sorts of things, so if she is showing signs of discomfort and symptoms of serious concern,  ring your vet ASAP.

if she is eating and toileting as normal then i shouldn't panic too much but always worth a call to the vets if she seems unwell.
if there was a blockage then she may bring her food back up or if it was the same but further in side her then she would have problems going to the loo but you know your dog so take her to the vets on Monday if your still worried.

I would see how she goes then take her to a vet, if you are still worried, can she have gotten something?

I would take her to the vet asap as a precaution.

Have you checked her mouth? If she's acting worried and gulping etc, she might have something stuck in it. If you're not sure, and you know something's wrong, always best to get her checked by a vet.
