- By fifi [gb] Date 07.07.09 21:09 UTC
We'll be there with our miniature poodle puppy (if he lives that long!!!), not taking any bernese this year
- By suz1985 [gb] Date 07.07.09 22:14 UTC

- By kenya [gb] Date 08.07.09 06:36 UTC

Also showing my Dane, anybody got FCR, IS or Dac's? well I'm stewarding so say hello!!

Hoping its dry, and not too hot for the dogs!
- By LindyLou [gb] Date 08.07.09 08:26 UTC
Well, I've entered 2 of my Munsters but don't know if I'll get there yet! My son was going to take me but his car failed its MOT and he doesn't know if he'll have it ready in time...... Guess I'll just have to ask my good friend (again :-) ) and see if she is going.
- By rjs [gb] Date 08.07.09 08:38 UTC
Yes I should be there
- By Abbeypap [gb] Date 08.07.09 08:50 UTC
I'll be there in the Papillon classes with my Phalenes.  I'll come past and say "Hello" Kenya.  Now Fifi I wonder why Forrest shouldn't make the show LOL he certainly was full of himself on Saturday at Paisley show but looked great.
- By fifi [gb] Date 08.07.09 12:20 UTC
He skates on thin ice very often!!!!! but gives you a good laugh because he is so thick :)  As you say tho, at least he enjoys himself!  Could prob do with that weekend off as he has E of E this weekend then Leeds the week after Dundee but Dundee is such a lovely show and they do give us the classes so should support it.  Did you splash out big time with your £2 :) :) :)
- By Abbeypap [gb] Date 08.07.09 13:15 UTC
Still in the grooming box, going to keep it and either buy a cup of tea at Dundee or and ice cream dependant on the weather.

Have a good time at East of England, let us know how you do.
- By Astarte Date 08.07.09 16:42 UTC
woo hoo, seems a fair few. is it going to be a lot bigger this year do you think?
- By ali-t [gb] Date 08.07.09 18:41 UTC
I will be taking oberon down for a nosey so he can have a snuffle round the stalls and a look at loads of dawgs.  Missy usually gets so excited i will have to take them down in shifts or my arms will be aching.
- By Astarte Date 08.07.09 19:03 UTC
if i see a snuffly rottie pup i shall say hello :)
- By kenya [gb] Date 08.07.09 19:07 UTC
There's roughly 1100 dogs entered!!
- By Astarte Date 08.07.09 19:09 UTC
wow. thats a big en then
- By ChristineW Date 08.07.09 20:50 UTC
Didn't enter and don't know if I'll be able to go as I've sort of semi-commited to help someone but if you see me wandering with a couple of Munsters, come over & say hello!  Pam (Blue) already knows what I look like!
- By Abbeypap [gb] Date 09.07.09 09:43 UTC
Good entry Fiona, looking forward to the day.  Already put my order in for good weather. :)
- By Henri3402 [gb] Date 10.07.09 10:11 UTC
No, haven't entered this year as we'll be in England.
- By scarlettwynter [gb] Date 11.07.09 19:15 UTC
I haven't entered either as I will be at the Working and Pastoral champ show. It's a shame the dates clashed as I like the Dundee show.
- By Abbeypap [gb] Date 19.07.09 19:35 UTC
Well done FiFi and Forrest, Best of Breed, Group 2, AND res best special puppy in show.  Woo hoo a great day for you.

How did everyone else do?

We got 1st Papillon puppy, and 1st AV Special best puppy in group.  Oh and Indy got 3rd in Papillon post graduate.  :)

Kenya though it was a wee bit tight packed in the tent next to the toy ring we had a very enjoyable day and the atmosphere was really good.  Tell your harassed and soaked looking show manager Jim (I think) and everyone else involved thank you.

ps got home at 8.30pm wet, tired, hungry and promising to pack a picnic for next year and start now sending good thoughts to book the sunshine.  LOL j
- By fifi [gb] Date 19.07.09 21:06 UTC
Thanks Joan :) :) Its officially "be nice to Forrest week" :)  Joking aside I'm really pleased with him.  Well done to you too
- By kenya [gb] Date 21.07.09 07:29 UTC
The show did seem to be emptier this year, I suspose with a few champ shows on the same wkd, it couldnt be helped, but back to our normal date next year!!!
The weather could have been worse, but sunshine on order next year, well done to all who were placed and done well.
Joan, the show manager is Phil, first year as that title!

I hate being in the wet weather accomadation, but hey hoo, we were outside after the Dac's for the Groups etc.

Joan see you soon!

I couldn't get to Dundee for one reason or another , gutted to as I am wanting to try and get my JW open show points. Nightmare in my breed just now due to the open show entries.  Dundee had 4 entered so I "may" have got them there OK. I went to Sunday's open show at Kirkcaldy. I was the only one there :-( Was 3rd in a good group with a very young bitch so did OK.

I know it is a nightmare to rule on these thing but I often wish they would give a point if say you won or were second in the group at least it would prove quality within your breed group.

We have a few good youngsters in our breed missing JW because of the open shows.

PS Kirkcaldy show was really empty.  We were finished in a hour.
- By kenya [gb] Date 21.07.09 10:20 UTC
We were at Kirkcaldy too, we were 2nd in the group, only 3 Danes there, what breed were you showing?
It was very quiet, felt sorry for the Club.
- By Blue Date 21.07.09 10:24 UTC
Oh you must have been standing on my toes :-) I had a young WHWT there.   Albert did your group also so I stood and watched it. My freinds were your stewards for the day LOL :-)
- By kenya [gb] Date 21.07.09 11:17 UTC
I remember ,a nice little WHW too, I have my new Border coming out October, miss showing my BT's, will speak the next time, now I know who you are.
- By Blue Date 21.07.09 13:57 UTC
There were quite a few Borders at Kirkcaldy.   I have an appointment in about 3 weeks time and I think there are 2 border classes. Good wee dogs really.
- By Abbeypap [gb] Date 21.07.09 14:32 UTC
Is that the baby I saw on Saturday Fiona, absolutely loved the colour.

Joan
- By kenya [gb] Date 21.07.09 14:42 UTC
Yes, thats her Joan, wanted a Blue & Tan for a while, but trying to find a nice one, was like finding hens teeth!!
We have end of training match tonight!
- By Abbeypap [gb] Date 21.07.09 15:55 UTC
Good luck at the match, if your judge has any sense at all that baby has got to win.  She is gorgeous.  Remember when Domino was being shown as a puppy we used to stand beside a cracking wee blue and tan border for the best pup in show competition quite often, sometimes it won and other times we won but a lot of the time neither of us won. LOL :)
- By kenya [gb] Date 21.07.09 16:26 UTC
Just hoping the judge knows what breed she is, I've had a few, is that a Rottie cross pup!!! lol
- By Abbeypap [gb] Date 21.07.09 16:33 UTC
NEVER !!!!!!!!  Hope you pointed them in the direction of a certain establishment that does 2 for 1 offers LOL

ps Whats her name?
- By kenya [gb] Date 21.07.09 16:39 UTC
She's Orla, or various other names Joan, typical terrier, no fear of nothing!
- By Sampap [gb] Date 22.07.09 21:07 UTC
Well done to Fifi and Joan on your wins a great result guys!! Fifi was lovely to meet you at E of E at last lol. I missed Dundee as we were away with the caravan at National Working, total nightmare, awning flooded trying to keep white dogs clean was not easy.
- By fifi [gb] Date 22.07.09 22:06 UTC
Hi Sampap, how did you get on at your show?  May soon be joining you in caravan parks as we are in process of buying a caravan!!!!!  And can I say i am taking some slagging for it from my friends!!!  So if you see a strange combination of poodles and bernese mountain dogs you know its us :)
- By Henri3402 [gb] Date 23.07.09 10:47 UTC
Hi Fifi, snap, we've just bought a new caravan but the thought of the awning flooding and trying to keep the dogs dry is putting me off somewhat, this will be our first venture into caravanning!!  We've not told any friends apart from the dog ones as I'm sure everyone will think us mad.
- By fifi [gb] Date 23.07.09 11:46 UTC
Hi Henri Have done the whole caravan thing for a few years with a friend that had one but this is first time we will have our own although prob wont use it til next year.  It is absolutely brilliant if the weather is good or at least dry but it is also the most miserable experience if wet!!!  We have working and utility and to be honest its the only way we are going to get to see each others dogs in the ring which is why we are doing it and also means we dont have to pay for kenneling or dogsitters as we can bring the others with us.  And yes non dog show friends look at you in horror!!
- By Sampap [gb] Date 24.07.09 20:47 UTC
Hi Fifi, got 2nd in Limit with my import girl didnt stay for Evesham on the Sunday as enough was enough. Henri please dont be put off by my ramblings, we have caravanned at shows for 20 years and can only think of twice that this sort of thing has happened. You guys need to buy a pond liner for underneath your groundsheet its quite cheap to buy so once you get your groundsheet measure it and ensure you have a bit coming up the sides, this is a great tip passed on to us by people at the weekend. I just dont want anyone else going through what we went through last week. To add to it my dogs have all had the runs and some have been sick, thank god I am not going to Leeds or I would have had to withdraw them.
- By Henri3402 [gb] Date 25.07.09 08:33 UTC
Thanks for the tip Jackie, will def get one to go underneath, it's our maiden trip next week! sorry to hear your dogs have been sick and got the runs, hope they're soon better.

Lorna
- By Sampap [gb] Date 26.07.09 11:13 UTC
Thank for you good wishes Lorna, you can buy pond liner off the roll at any garden centre, dont get the plastic stuff, I think its around £3 a metre. Are  you caravaning at Paignton? If so look out for us with the Sams,Rough Collies and Papillons (an odd bunch lol) we also fly an Australian boxing kangaroo !!from out flag pole.
- By Henri3402 [gb] Date 27.07.09 07:17 UTC
Yes we are, we're French Bulldogs and Boxers with an Old England Historic flag which will be flown for the first time hopefully.
