Dogwatch No. 338
I am posting this message from Dog Watch as I feel it is important for all owners to be aware of what has happened to these two dogs. I hope the poor dog recovers fully.
Two Working Spaniels Stolen
Last Friday (3.7.09) at around 11:00 p.m. a member heard a lot of barking, and on investigation, discovered that her two black working cocker spaniels had been stolen from kennels in her garden in West Ilsley. Fortunately, the following day at around 5:00 p.m. a friend saw the two dogs being bundled out of a silver coloured car and they were recovered by the owner. One of the dogs, a seven-year old bitch, had suffered severe damage to her eyes, as though some chemical had been sprayed on her face. She is still undergoing veterinary examination at the time of writing. It is thought that the dogs were discarded because they were microchipped and therefore "too hot to handle". Police have been informed. Be on your guard!
