This isnt really a question, or a problem but i think it's strange (no doggy exp. before Mason)
Everytime i give him a chew or bone, he starts to make this strange whinging noise, like an attention whine but tail wagging. He usually gets a chew when i have to leave him for a bit and i assumed that he was eating them because when i get back they are gone. But i sat in seldom used lounge the other evening to find a large bone wedged down the side of the sofa, under the throw. Turns out (i spied on him a few times) that he is not eating his chews but hiding them. they are everywhere! In the ironing basket, under the sofa, etc. He is very good at making it look like nothing has been touched!
My point is, why? does he not like them? Is he saving them? Its very sweet the way he gently pulls back the throws on the sofa and replaces them neatly but i am a little confused!

Cant answer your question but one of mine would do the same and even bury it on the carpet , giving himself carpet burns on his nose  , the chew or bone was still in full view but he thought he had buried it.

One of my dogs does the same much to the other's delight :-)

Molly buries hers down the back of the sofa, under the blankets in her bed & in her earthy digging pit. Also pretend burying on the patio, also getting a sore nose. The best one, when I found a raw marrow bone hidden between the pillows on my bed & the wall.
Molly mainly eats her treasures when I get home from work.

He's saving them for later :)

Buster doesn't bury anything or even attempt to, if it's edible he wants it ASAP!!
My last dog, Rocky, was also quite the little piggy for food & treats apart from one occasion. We had friends around for a BBQ and one of them brought thier dog with them. At the end of the BBQ the dogs were both given a sausage each (Rocky always ahd a sausage if us or the neighbours did a BBQ and would always eat it imediately), only instead of scoffing it, this time he placed it in a little dippy in the lawn and proceeded to cover it with tufts of grass that he ripped up untill it was completely camouflaged :-) Very cute,  I love that memory of him. :)

Oh,i think that is one of the sweetest things they do.I once found a piece of dried up yorkshire pud under the corner of the bedroom carpet.Mind you it could have been a comment on the state of my baking!
