When will people learn that they cannot leave their dogs in cars when they pop out somewhere?

Far better to leave them at home in this hot weather!

I just cant understand how people do this sort of thing would they leave their young babies in their car seats the same way? i think not , it would be commen sense not to,
so where does their commen sense go when it comes to their dogs,

i am alway shocked at the stupidity of people one couple went to the pictures, :-O,
Whats doing though their minds why would you take your dog in the car anyway if your going to be going to the pictures?
if we take the dogs out in the car its because we are going out with the dogs and when we get their the dogs come where ever we go to up and decide to go pictures if we'd been on a day out with them wouldn't even enter our heads,

They do leave their young babies in the cars as well! some time ago it was on the news a baby had died after being left in a hot car.

Just read this its awful, we don't take the dogs on sites or even out in the car's until late in the evening and early morning. I have even resorted to making ice cubes to put in a flask so they can have cold water when they have finished their exercise.

I think its a horrific death and they owner's should at least get a fine. There is no excuse for such a lack of common sense!

When I got into my car at 6.15pm at work the temperature gauge was reading 39.5 degrees.
The windows were slightly open in my car and I had the windscreen reflector in too.

The car hadn't been in the sun all day either as I had a trip home and park in the shade...

We have had to take dogs in the car when we have been on holiday and they couldn't be left in the accommodation we had. If we had to leave them in the car due to shopping or whatever, whether it was sunny or not, we tried to find a multi-storey carpark for the car as these are normally very cool even on hot sunny days and you can leave your windows/tailgate open if you have guards. Leaving a dogs in a car in full sun is just completely irresponsible.

Would you believe that in this incredible heatwave 2 POLICE DOGS have died after being left in a Police van and forgot about in the car park of a Nottinghamshire Police Station? You'd think Police dog handlers of all people would know better really. They should be utterly ashamed of themselves.

I am SO angry at that!   It is absolutely inexcusable and the handlers deserve no less than being sacked.

Or failing that, being locked in a stationary van which is parked in full sunlight for 24 hours with no water or anything else.

Or both.   And their identities revealed to shame them publicly.

It is beyond belief that this would happen with Police dogs when so much money and time is invested in them, just for the handler to make a fatal error that let's face it, even a child would know not to do.

Don't so called dog lovers no any better then to leave there dog in a car this hot weather. They even take them to supermarkets.
There are know words that are printable. Hope the owners of the dogs in Scotland do not get them back.
There was a dog locked up in a car in this hot weather at Morrison's so i went in and made them find the owner. When they did i told her
that if she want a live dog do not leave in car this hot.The dog was panting so her son stayed with dog.

If ANYONE should know better - I can't believe that these dog handlers didn't- if they aren't sacked they should be taken off police dog handling duties immediately and never allowed to handle police dogs again. This makes me so angry!

just cant understand how people do this sort of thing would they leave their young babies in their car seats the same way?

Some one came in to work yesterday (a builders merchants), she parked her car, closed the windows, had a walk around the yard then eventualy came in the shop. While my mum was surving her she kept looking out the door and than said "i think my baby has woken up".!
It was hot ans she left her baby in the car with all the windows done up!
