I have just had a look at a couple of differnt sheduals and found that our boy's, father's name keeps appearing as a Ch, we are not putting it in and thought it was a typo but its on several. Is there a website were we can check the names and status of dogs i.e. if they have gained a champ title? Iv looked on the kennel club website but cant seem to find it, any idea's?

Oh and we cant ask the breeder as she doesnt have him anymore.

Have you tried googling his name?

There's also the page on the KC website (can't find it at the moment) where you can input the dog's name and it'll tell you whether it's been health checked - if you input the name with Ch in front it will either accept or reject it.

ETA again! No good :-( - I tested it with a known champion and it rejected the name. Accepted it fine without the title.

Even if the breeder doesn't have him any more she may well know.

If he was a Ch before you got your boy it will be on his KC Reg papers.

Other thing you can do is look at champ show results from the relevant time if you know where he was being shown - archives on www.fossedata.co.uk and www.highampress.co.uk , and if he is in results pages and his name is down on there as a Ch, then he will be... I think the stud book is the actual register/ record of JWs, ShCMs, Chs etc.... but don't know how often it comes out, and you would have to buy a copy from the Kennel Club. Cheaper my way. :-)

Big printers such as fosse and higham I know have dogs names and details saved so if you got it wrong once it will continue to be like this.  Is it always the same prining company doing the shows this has enterd at?

Jan, you have to put in the dog's reg name without any titles for the health checker... it says so underneath, and it won't work if you try to find a dog and use Ch or JW etc before or after. :-)

Yer Iv tried googling but nothing turned up, unfortunatly I doubt that health tests were done

Yes, I've just found that out. :-( Still, it was worth a try.

ummm, I think it might be a printing error as iv had a look and all the scheduals are printed at the same place, I think I need to email them to change it.
