Seeing the thread re evening primrose oil, made me remember something my kennels mentioned to me last summer. They said that you shouldn't give CLO during the hotter/summer months as this mixed with the warmer weather can cause problems - think they said something like thinning of the blood.

I've not been able to find anything when surfing the web, so thought I'd ask you knowledgable folk.

Sorry can't help and i have to say i've never heard of any problems when giving cod liver oil.
hopefully someone else may know.

I would give Omega 3 Essential Fish Oils rather than straight Cod Liver Oil

I was told to give C L O in the winter months but not in the summer months as it helps to keep them warm in the winter.
I give mine sunflower oil keeps there coats shiney.
