I would like to help out at a rescue, by walking dogs, cleaning out kennels or other animal cages, feeding etc........does anyone know whether rescues need people like this?  or is it just financial support they need?  (cant give that :-()

I would think they do especially the kennel cleaning bit :-) No harm in asking and good luck!!

I know that Battersea dogs home allways appreciate volunteers, my daughter is looking to sign up when she turns sixteen, I think they just ask you (well at Battersea) do a minimum number of hours per month, they include the type of help you've said, dog walking etc. Definitely ask I'm sure they be grateful :-D

Its took three hours searching but I have found a rescue nearby on the RSPCA site and they have 10!!!!  voulenteer vacancies for:

    * Kennel duties/dog walking/training/grooming.
    * Cattery duties/socialisation/grooming.
    * Small animal socialising and care.

so I have emailed the rescue :-)  they want a min of two hours a week!  I hope I can help them :-)
