Topic Dog Boards / General / Breeders listings on Champdogs
- By ChinaBlue [gb] Date 10.06.09 17:30 UTC
I noticed that there is a message on the front page about how many more breeders have registered with Champdogs in the last month.

Can I ask what is required to register? Or is it simply that anyone can register and it is then up to the enquirer to satisfy themselves about health screening etc?

Thanks
Kat

I don't know about the free listings, but when you have the paid one, you most certainly have to give a lot of details. Health tests have to be either possible for CD to verify on the KC website or you have to send them proof, they will want info of all sorts, they seem to do a lot to make sure only good, responsible breeders are advertising on CD.

You cannot advertise a litter without giving evidence of both parents health tests, either by scanning and e-mailing certificates, or giving dogs details for admin to check on relevant KC health site.. very stringent ..

Anyone can have a free page, but those pages do not allow any advertising of dogs or litters etc.. just a basic single home page.. Which I think also allow you to place your show results (which is a good thing)..

I think I had an e-mail recently from admin, notifying me that a couple of my dogs did not have health test results and could I please update .. so they do keep and eye on us.. :-)

However the KC health site is over a month out of date.  One of our dogs annual eye sert date has now run out, but it has been renewed as he was expecting a litter so wanted to make sure he was clear at time of birth aswell as time of mating.

However the KC health site is over a month out of date.

And that's one instance when you have to send copies of any tests to admin, if they cannot verify current results at the KC site.

Thanks for that.

I was concerned, as I recommended CD site to a friend looking for a GSD pup, as my breeder has suspended breeding due to the economic climate.

She contacted a breeder from a CD listing and asked what health tests the bitch and stud have had, and the reply was they haven't had any health tests yet, but their vaccinations are all up to date!
