From my experience in 2004 it was very easy to find an English speaking vet in France, we were not in the Calais region though, but if you google you will find services such as dogs away (they will organise the vet appointment for you for a small cost) but it is quite easy to find them once you are over there yourself.

We've done it recently but came back the next day so had our own vet to do the meds and pet passport paperwork. How long are you planning to be away?

Hi Lynn

I live in France and although I haven't taken my dogs back to the UK my parents regularly do this.  They use a vet close to where I live as you do have to wait quite a long time after the tick and wormer before they can travel back to the UK I think you have to travel 12 hours after the treatment but within 24 hours, I might be wrong!   So you don't have to have a Vet near the ports.  A lot of vets speak English but even if they don't they will understand what needs to be done for the passport and to get animals back into the UK.  Good luck

I am staying over there for the duration of time it takes to put the dogsthrough the Pet passport, they are coming from the USA and will be sentto Belgium or calais, I will stay over there withn them and need vet to help get us through, I have used the dogs breeds and quaranteen in the past but this timeI want to be with them from day one, that they arrive.
So not just the jab, it's for the whole Pet PassportMyhusband will come over for visits as we are both retired,so there forthe long haul
