I have a 3 1/2 year old minature  long haired dachshund who vomitted about three weeks ago on three occasions, she then seemed fine for about a week until i noticed her breathing heavily.  i took her to the vet who after a day of tests said she had protein losing enteropathy and he had to drain fluid from her chest cavity.  my vet has not yet got to the bottom of why she is losing protein and i am taking her to a cardiologist for tests tomorrow.  she does not have diarrhoea, sickness, or any other signs in fact she seems in good health.  she is on diuretics at the moment and seems fine but i am worried sick.  does anyone have any experience of protein losing enteropathy?   thanks for any advice
