In the film, making of Ghost Town part 3/3 on youtube. Anyone know?
- By JoStockbridge [gb] Date 06.06.09 20:14 UTC
It looks Pugish to me but its the wrong colour, so i would say it is probley a Pug Cross, maby with a Jack Russel.

Is it a Griffon Bruxellois?
- By Moonmaiden Date 06.06.09 20:46 UTC
It's a Smooth Griffon Bruxellois

They look like a sweet little dog. What is their character like?
- By ali-t [gb] Date 07.06.09 13:36 UTC
there is one that sometimes comes to one of my training classes.  It doesn't do much - not barky, waggy, whiny, growly.  It appears to be quite chilled out when I see it but it is in the other room so I have no idea how well it responds to obediance training.

My friend has a Smooth Griffon and he is a cheeky little devil. He was the runt of the litter and is finer built than normal...but he is so full of himself and has the heart of a lion. If he gets in one of his evil (in the best possible way :-) ) moods....he will put a GSD out of the room. he is very sweet as well and loves nothing more than to find the longest coated dog at work and snuggle in..often lying on top with the supporting dogs tail over his face....
Lovely wee dog...if I liked tiny canines I wouldn't mind one of these based on my friends dogs personality.

What an AWFUL website! I went for a look to see if my breeds were on there. No Malinois thankfully I have to say, but this is what it says about Papillon:
The Papillon is a very loyal pet and is one of the ultimate designer dog breeds. They can be trained to be perfectly happy in a large hand bag, with jeweled collars or tailored dog coats.

These people should be seriously ashamed of themselves!!!!

Curiosity got the better of me.. I am sorry, but not a very proffessional website.. and certainly not a helpful one..

I looked up my breed, and the site has done it a great injustice.. very poor :-)

just realised Angel66.. is there a reason for nominating this site in most of your posts???  if a vested interest, then this is against the TOS... but all in all, not a good site to recommend..

Specific information on a breed is best gained from the relevant breed clubs.. or breed enthusiasts..

I looked up my breed too; the description is very brief and only vaguely accurate. Not a site I'd recommend.
- By stamboom [gb] Date 08.06.09 21:40 UTC
you are right,i did want one of these, but i went off them, no reason just.... dont know, i have found my breed now.

Ditto

Alsatian & GSD as separate breeds, the same dog(s) being used for ACD & Blue Heelers, Cockers/Am Cockers !!!!

Just read the GSD description-known as Alsatians after WWII Er no WWI & it was Alsatian Wolfdog !!

i concur...

and deeply incomplete... and of course full of nonsense...
- By ShaynLola Date 08.06.09 22:02 UTC
Oh my giddy aunt!  That site recommends CLIPPING Newfoundlands!!! Truly appalling!

I found it quite entertaining, it claims borzois are intelligent :-) :-) Anyone buying one after reading that may be very disappointed :-) :-)

My main worry are the poor Papillons being carted around in handbags -these are VERY active little dogs that can outrun a lot of bigger dogs. They are superb for obedience and mini agility, not as fashion accessories. :(

I wouldnt keep the min pin in my house!  Horrible picture to represent the breed, HORRIBLE.  Says the min pins are a sporting dog too, um, since when?

ETA just looked at the Doberman one too, and not very good info on the breed.  Horrible website.  Wouldnt post it again.

When you say that I can't help looking, and after what you said it said about papillons, I had to look at the chihuahua notes:

It is very important to make sure that your dog knows that you are the boss. If you want a little dog you can pop in your handbag or just a small dog that is easy to exercise and very low maintenance then this breed is a great choice.

 I agree - dreadful.... Fortunately no Flatties, but the GSPs it has missed out some fairly important stuff (this isn't the time of night for me to notice how much, but some is obviously missing... and there may well be other mistakes as I was too tired to read what she claimed as the breed origins... )

The dalmatian's appalling too - it seems to be a Great Dane with spots! I'd be terribly ashamed to have drawn that.

My mum had one for about 15 years called Rebel, a loving gentle dog, but full of fun form his size. Quite a character. As kids she feed him best steak mince and Dad said he feed the dog better than Dad!! Really nice dog a bit too small for me. Rebel was a black rough but in the family we also had Benji a smooth brown and Dara their Mum.

We all knew Mum prefered the dog to us!! and she was broken hearted when he died. I's recommend one no real problems and not a yappy. Mind you we were all in our late teens so no one to tease him either.

It's easier said than done!

Eeek... went to look at deerhounds... only 29 inches?... and up to 10 years old! pft!
- By Jeangenie [gb] Date 10.06.09 09:17 UTC
The information really is rubbish! It says for dalmatians "They usually grow to about 56-60 cm in height and weigh between 32 and 40 kgs in peak condition." The height's fine - but the weight? They'd be wobbling blobs if they weighed that much! Change it to 25 to 32kg and you'd be nearer the mark.
