Our local KC is coming up for 125 years and wants to mark it with a bang.
I'm on the subcommittee and our first meeting is on Monday, and I'm hoping for ideas to take to the board in order to make it really special.
We have 6 conformation shows a year, a handful of obedience shows and fairly regular agility shows, but at the moment the thinking is to base the celebrations around one weekend and go all out and fabulous.
Typically we have one day conformation shows, and the plan is to create a 2day show, with sporting (terrier, hound and gundog) one day and non sporting (pastoral, working, toy, utility) the other, with the plan to have the non showing groups set up as a mini discover dogs for the public.
There is also talk of combining the weekend along with the agility and obedience side, but quite how is unknown.
We are hoping to bring in as many competitors from the mainland UK (We are an island) and so are looking at a big meet and mingle BBQ, and putting on camping facilities to make it easier to come over.
I'm posting here in the hope some fab ideas will come out that I can take to the table and really make the celebrations good.
The ideas don't have to be just conformation based, agility and obedience ideas are needed too happy :)
TIA
Carla
