I'm a blooming nuisance posting about bones! Well today, I went to the butchers and he gave me a big bag of bones. I don't know what animal they are from but I assume beef? One is a knuckle bone? Sealed at both ends. Some look like ribs? And some have a knuckle at one end but then go fatter further down but are open with gunge inside - YUK! Are these safe to give a little Cavalier??........I'm not convinced. The knuckle bone looks ok but there's only one and I cant give one dog without the other.

The gunge, is marrow, and dogs love it, and yes perfectly safe to give to a Cavalier.. I would suggest, that you restrict how much marrow he gets, as it is very fatty, (maybe scoop some out with a spoon, and save for later :-)

lol the gunge will be bone marrow and your dog will go nutty for it. i'd say the knuckle and the open one, maybe wait for the ribs if your nervy.

bet they prefer the open one though, i used to have to scoop out the marrow our lot couldn't reach with a tea spoon lol
