As you might remember, I run a pub! I have been holding a Quiz night for about 10 weeks now and am running out of ideas for Topics for the rounds!
Just wondered if anyone had been to a local pub quiz in their area?
What was enjoyable about it?
Does anyone have any suggestions for topics?
There are only so many doggy related ones I can do before people start to get peed off.

Any interesting suggestions welcome!
Thank you

Vikki :)

i LOVE pub quizzes!

obvious ones are a current affairs round, history, name the... (film, song, whatever), famous fives (last 5 olympics hosts, last five christmas no 1's etc)

i liked in a pub quiz we used to do an round identify the 80's cartoon from the theme music examples

"magic and mystery are part of their history, along with the secrets of ........" (anyone?)

also a design your own Mr Man round

My dad runs a monthly charity pub quiz and has done so for the last 6 years.

Along with all the normal categories he has also done rounds where the last letter of the answer to one clue is the first letter of the next answer - if the answer to the clue is let's say Bulldog then the next answer would begin with a G - let's say that answer was Grasshopper - then the next would begin with an R and so on.

Other rounds have included food and drink, colours, local knowledge ( he lives in a village and it is surprising how many interesting facts there are to know about a small village), a numbers round where all the answers are numbers, "firsts" - who was first person to ..... what was first hit record for....... name of the first lady in space etc.

Hi

i used to go to a pub quiz at whetherspoons and they used the quizes from quizzes.com or something similar to that address , very varied and have a picture round too. I now go to a quiz on a wed night and we won it last week, the picture round was a dog breed round!! lol

we won a gallon of ale, which is poo coz i dont drink!

Louise (also a mummy of a Mason!)

ps the quizzes from this site have 1st round picture, name film, singer, album cover, husband of or kid of. then they have a round where all the answers are related to one another and then the last question you have to answer why they are related. Then same as above the last letter of the first answer is the first letter of the next. you have to have some years on you to get some right. then the last round is a wipe out round get any wrong you lose all the points from that round.

I've done pub quizzes and we did and interval round in which they had to do different things.

Like someone did it one week where they brought in lego models and the groups had to make the item which ever it was, so like a car the quickest group to do this won, they don't get instructions.

I did a James Bond interval which they had the name all the James Bond movies.

I like to throw in hard questions with easy ones, so it doesn't get too boring for those you are challenged..

Playing music and getting people to guess artist and/or song.

I make sure that there is a minimum of 5 catergories with about 10 questions in each.

Have a bonus round where the group add this so they can double their score on that round, but don't divulge the catergories in advance...
