I know that some veg can't be grown with others so does anyone know if tomatoes can go between potatoes ?
I have got 5 plants without pots so thought i might aswell bung them between the potatoes .
Thanks in advance .

Well if they can't I've got 5 tom plants that are doomed, I found them a home in the raised spud bed due to running out of space. They're growing well, the only thing I can see happening to them is being swamped by the triffid like spuds, but it was that or the compost heap so we shall see. :)

tomatoes and potatoes are related so maybe they make good partners?

I know that the fruits a potato makes are poisonous, so being in close proximity I'd want to find out if they might cross-pollinate and affect the tomatoes.

It'd make earthing-up the potatoes difficult if you have plants growing between them too, wouldn't it?

Just found this site which says that tomatoes and potatoes are incompatible.

A friend has set up big bags look like the green gardening ones and planted them outside of the kitchen door ? or us rubble sacks or grow bags outside the door?
I grow small ones as hanging baskets!!

I've got some planters outside the back door with capsicums in them, the trick is to train my younger dogs that they are not for digging in  :p:

I'll probably just get some growbags and stick them somewhere up the garden
