I am a stay at home mother of 2 young children, we are looking for a yorkshire terrier bitch. Must be well behaved and love children and other animals. We live on the doorstep of Werneth Low Country Park in Cheshire, and do not want to travel too far if possible. We can pay up to £100. Can anyone help??? My E:Mail address is: kimsnangel17.cloud9@virgin.net. P.S. We would prefer a puppy, but will consider a bitch up to 12 months old. Thanx for your help. xxxx

Hi guest,
With two "small children" in the house, getting a Yorkie of any age is not adviseable, esp. one that is under a year old. They are very small and delicate when that young. Because of this fact, children can unintentionally injure them. Older dogs might not like the rough and tumble of that sort of treatment either.
I rehomed an 8 year old Yorkie who liked children, but ONLY if said children were quiet, brushed her, and fed her treats. :) She did not like to play with them. She had been thrown around like a football by boys in her previous families and she just did not appreciate any rough handling. She also had a 4 inch bruise on her back when I brought her home for the first time. The mother just could not understand why she kept yelping when she was left alone with the 5 year old son.
regards,
Sara

I'm afraid you wouldn't get a puppy from a reputable breeder for £100 or less so your only option would be to look at rescue centres.
It's quite likely that you'll have problems with a rescue centre as well, because you have young children.
It might be better if you wait until you can afford to spend £400 on a puppy and get a KC registered one from a reputable breeder that has had all the relevant health checks done..
With puppies it really is a case of you get what you pay for - a cheap puppy proably won't have had any health checks perfomed on it's parents and may end up costing you a lot of money in the future through it's own poor health.
