we found out today that our team leader is being moved to another team and we are getting a new person. My boss is fantastic, he's really helpful and we all get on great, he knows i am good at my job and really fought my corner for me when i was ill to get my contract, something the rules say i should not have been eligable for. I will really miss him :(

and to make it worse we are getting a bunch of other managers into our area who are... well, strict is one word. essentially works going to be miserable now :( must find new job...

maybe things wont be as bleak as you fear :)  Since your previous TL thought highly of you there's every chance that this will have been noted on your records and your new senior staff delighted to have you on their team.  Many people are finding major changes in the workplace and more still out of jobs altogether - stay positive, you still have your job and a good track record :)

oh yeah, my jobs not a worry at all :) but things in our team are just spot on at the moment. we're in a quiet wing, just us and other teams we all get on with whos bosses we like to, everyone in our team is great together and our boss is tremendous.

my particular new boss is a girl i know whos lovely, so that should be fine, but its the others coming in...belive me it will be as bad as i fear. one always covers the overtime and she is total sergent major! :(

i suppose its a good thing as it'll give me a kick up the bahookie to get a new job.

was quite touched to when i joked that i might end up asking to be transfered to my current bosses new department and he said if i wanted he'd request it :)

Sorry to hear that your job is going to be less than pleasant (to put it mildly).  Hopefully you can keep your head high, and get through it.  But definately dont want to quit before you find a new one!

Oh,don't even think about quitting as things are with jobs at the moment.New bosses are always a problem,they take some breaking in.they always want to make sure you know who's in charge and don't seem to understand without training that you are!Good luck,and don't let the b****rs get you downx

Think yourself lucky!  If I was caught using the net at work (other than work stuff), I would lose my job!  All hell would break loose if I was found on CD!

yes, I once had a wonderful boss, when I worked at a call center.  The job itself, wasnt very appealing (verifying MCI phone service contracts) but Randy, he made it so cool.  You could talk with him, he was very approachable.  He would sit outside and have a smoke with you on breaks, he was great!  The company closed, or I may have still been working there! 

And I loved my boss and coworkers at my one co-op placement!  They were so nice, funny, and I didnt want to leave when my co-op hours were finished! 

So I know what you are talking about when you say wonderful bosses and such!
