Am I the only one that thinks she is totally over-rated and actually quite rubbish?
*braces myself*

funny enough oh and me were only saying last night she is a great singer but there are many great singers and i too dont find her that entertaining to watch am loving the dance acts this year though wish i could dance like them !

Never heard her - so I can't comment upon her singing - but I think that she has been picked up by the panel/media because of her USP - the eyebrows/frumpiness - she just looks different when compared with anyone else who aspires to appear on TV!
Let's face it - if that were not the case, she would have had the whole make-over treatment by now!
I have no talent, so its not likely to happen - but I would rather pull all my teeth and toenails out slowly myself than appear on a TV show such as this!

No, you aren't the only one who thinks that she is over-rated!!! :) I actually think that if she were young and pretty, she probably wouldn't have even got through at the Audition Stage. It is her eccentricity which made her stand out in IMO. Having said that, I do think that she has quite a sweet voice.

Me too!

I agree, and the same goes for Jamie Pugh - he was dreadful last night and I think the judges were very kind to him. If it had been anyone else they would have been much harsher. There's loads of people out there who can sing much better than those two. Susan Boyle's image and naivete is what's charmed people, but although her voice is ok, she lacks an understanding of phrasing or emotion, I don't feel she sings from the heart, just sings all the right notes in the right order!
I think the dance acts show real talent -it's much easier for someone with a good voice to just sing a song (at a concert they would have to sing many in a night) but the dance acts have to choreograph and learn new routines and edit their music which must take hours of hard work alongside their talent.

The first time I heard her sing I thought she had an amazing voice, but somehow missed the
emotion of the song.
Second time I heard her, I felt she wasn't as good, and still only singing the words :( Little bit scary when she played about afterwards - was that her or was she
told to be a bit more outgoing?

Me three!
Absolutely love Diversity :-D :-D :-D

Talking of teeth, is it me or did she had a new set of top nashers last night? They looks white, straight and very Simon Cowell!!!
I have to say i like her voice and i reckon if they do a make over on her then she could potentially be a big star on broadway/west end.
love Flawless, loved them the first time i saw them audition.
Though the camp act where the 2 boys had famous people's masks on had me in fits of laughter.. I think they should continue their gig...

I think her first performance from Les Miserables was much better and I do think she has a truly beautiful voice :) Her dowdy appearance and quirky nature have caught the media attention world wide and 'bigged her up' to an extent that I don't think even Simon could have expected LOL.
I think that fact put too much pressure on her for the semi stage as it was only towards the end that there appeared to be any emotion in her performance. We must remember though that all those entered are non-pros and not in the least used to performing in front of live audiences - the whole point of the show is to demonstrate whether and in a lot of cases not LOL) Britain has talent. I believe this lady has enormous talent as have quite a few others.
The two dance groups through so far are IMO outstanding and each shows immense multi skills so I hope regardless of outcome they go on to bigger and better things and that lots of youngsters watching them see the potential in themselves to be achievers even if they think the odds are stacked against them :)
I don't mind who wins over all - hopefully those with genuine talent will get something out of it and good on them!
As for going on a reality show of any kind myself - not a snowballs chance in a furnace :-p

me too, I keep meaning to have a look on youtube to see if there are any clips of them to download. Fit bodies and a hilarious show what more could a girl want?
Am I the only one that thinks she is totally over-rated and actually quite rubbish?
:-D :-D I don't think she will win now, I think it was the total shock when she first walked on that she could even sing which had the whole country sitting there with our mouths open.
But I agree now that the shock has gone, she wasn't anything special, (says she who sings like a frog :-D ) she does not come up to any of the big names and Paul Potts was so much better. However, she is very comical I like that about her she drew me back in a little with her personality, but I think one of the children will win this year.

well, if the vote is split with the dance acts she stands a chance, but I hope she doesn't. I like Shaun Smith is it? He's 17, gorgeous and has a lovely raw talent. Think he might get the girly vote and pull it out the bag :)

i suppose it depends if you like opera type music? i dont! i thought the first 2 notes she sang were well off key and after that it was just fair. is it me or is she bonkers? she seemed to be wandering around the stage not knowing where to go. i thought both dance groups were great but quite different. the first had youngsters in it too and when they threw that kid accross the stage it was great! the other group are really well sincronized (sp) and it must be hard dancing in overcoats! my fav is sean, lovely lad and only 17! it may only be singing but hes great.

all I am going to say is.......I have a friend that lives in the town S.B. comes from........ Oh! I will say something else, I will vote for the 17 yr old singer and wish I was 16 again

Sure I read somewhere after the 1st time she was on that she is 'educationally challenged' or whatever the PC phrase nowadays is.
>Paul Potts was so much better
Paul Potts was a professionally trained Opera Singer before he appeared on the program
I don't watch the program, clashes with much better programs like NCIS ;-)

No cant see me buying a Susan Boyle CD either.....but Diversity are amazing, especially Ashley, the tall and rather good-looking leader of the group. Handsome, educated and can dance to boot...oh to be two decades younger!!

i do not like susan boyle, i think her singing is fair, but not amazing. I have found watching the show that it is very funny to see people that think they have talent and they sound or perform terrible :) and majority of the time i seem to agree with simon cowells comments! :)

I think good on her :) not been watching though, so haven't seen the other acts.

She's not really got a distinctive voice,so if you couldn't see her you wouldn't know who was singing really.Mind you i've only seen that first performance on youtube and did wonder at the time what the massive fuss was about.Good luck to her though, but i hope they don't encourage the wiggling about,it just seems someone has put her up to that and the papers have made a lot of it.

Yep I'm with the teeth and nails before tv gang. I cannot understand why somepeople put themselves through it i'll live without my 15mins of fame thanks
> clashes with much better programs like NCIS ;-)
Here, Here! Just love NCIS! :)

Sorry Carla
I think she is really good and not rubbish at all ! and has a lovley voice. She does act a bit strange which makes you feel a bit embarrassed for her but IMO she has got maybe a wee bit of a learning difficulty or has just led a very sheltered life looking after her Mum and that is why she is like that. It was awfull the way they all laughed at her when she first went on.
It was such a shame for the Welsh guy as he also has a good voice but is so nervous that it really let him down. I also like the dance group with all the men in it , they are fascinating to watch.
I say well done to her and I hope she does well but I do love "stavros flatley" I think they are hilarious and it would make a change for something other than a singer to win.
Well done to everyone who entered and may the best act on the night win
I am also an NCIS/ CIS freak cant get enough of the stuff !!

Nope :-) i dont like her very much myself she may sing ok but i think shes a little bit cocky and that puts me off her i see picture of her in news she look half cut and a bit of a mess,
FLAWLESS TO WIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
thier freinds of my 21 year old son iv seen them dance at the Hammersmith apollo afew times in the street dance weekend championships and have meet them in person after events iv gone to where my sons dance group have been, their all great boys,
Diversity are great also they beat my sons group Ruthless in the 2007 street dance championships :-(
with all this x factor and BGT going on its now made it much harder to get on in the entertainment world,
Flawless have been going for years Longer than they say they been together as the were champs at a street dance club called Jump off, many years ago ,
seems sad that the quickest way to get fame in your profeshion is to line the pockets of simon cowell thu his shows ,
its hard to make it big without him now, which is why Flawless say chase the dream not the compertition,

I'm not that keen I must admit. The first audition really was superb, but that was partly due to it being so unexpected. I didn't think her performance in the semi-final was anywhere near as good. She does come across as being a little odd but I think she's just unsure how to deal with all the attention. I love Flawless and Diversity and could watch them for hours! :-)

My teen daughters love him! And so do I! <blush> :-D
Talent and gorgeousness in abundance.

I want Shaun to win as he is from our little city of Lichfield.

Reading about her in the press this morning - I think she's going to blow anything she did have, and I think you could be the biggest hero to zero in living history.
She's not all there IMO and they have exploited her naivity, and now they might just see the other side and the media are going to milk the lot.
>She's not all there IMO and they have exploited her naivity
You're right. I remember reading a few weeks ago that she has learning difficulties, so she has no chance of coping longterm with all this hoohah. I'm sorry for her - I'm afraid she's going to end up very hurt.
I just feel a little uneasy, it's almost as though she does not know how to conduct herself. I hope things come together for her and she is able to make a living from her singing. I remember a young man playing a clarinet (I think) and he was very good I don't think his semi-final has been on yet, so I hope he does well. I love the energy of the dancers and Stavros Flatley, well I can't believe how much they make me laugh, I think it's just a dad and his lad having fun and not taking themselves too seriously.

I was at the live show last night. The atmosphere was amazing. I had a front row seat behind the judges.
I love Stavros Flatley, I was also at their audition when they brought the house down. I thought MD Showgroup should have gone through with them last night, they were electric.
Trimmer........it wasn't a clarinet it was a saxophone, he was very good, I hope he goes through.
Was wondering when someone was going to mention Stavros Flatley :-) Think I have a theme for naming my next litter of pups ;-)
sandrah, what was the sound like live? None of the singers have sounded as good to me as they did on the audition shows. Their voices all sound weaker with the backing too loud. I wondered if it was the sound system or if they were all more nervous at a live show?

The sound was much better live, when I watched it on the television it wasn't the same. I think the dance groups come over much better live too.
Shaheen was a bit wobbly at the start though, as most of the singers have been.

Never seen the program but heard a sample of her on the radio, didnt seem that good. Heard Piers Morgan describe her as "the most famous person on the planet (at the mo)".
Maybe in your la-la land world Piers, but not mine.
