Since getting the new computer, i now have to use Windows mail instead of Outlook Express.

If i'm viewing a website & there is a link to an email address & i click to send a message, my pc automatically opens microsoft office word instead of windows mail...anyone know how i can stop this??

Same thing also happens if i open a pic & want to send to someone as an attachment.

you must have Windows Mail set as your default email program just now.  If you'd rather use something else, go into your options and select an alternative - most probably (if running Vista on Home pro) the best selection will be MS Outlook :)

Go into start menu > control panel > programs > default programs > here you should find a list of default settings, scroll down, highlight MS Outlook (or Oulook Express if available) and select as your default mail program.

Then you should be able to send and receive mail as before including attachments and following on-line email links :)

Glad you're sorted Sue :)  Any other probs with similarly different default programs (for viewing certain files for eg)  just change to your preferred / more familiar one the same way.

LOL this was a breeze Jean compared to all the shennanigans getting folks unable to view Crufts on-line to change options, download programs, fiddle with security settings etc   That was a bit more tricky :-p
