Topic Other Boards / Foo / Bees....advice?

Some sort of bees have taken up residence in a disused lidded barbecue at the botton of our patio. They are small, not bumble bees. Just a bit worried with the dogs tearing round that if it upturns they will get stung. Equally worried if we try to move it the bees will get angry and swarm out. Not sure what to do for the best.Any advice wopuld be most welcome
thanks

oooh I'd be sorely tempted to get a professional in to move the hive (if possible?) to another location, but one where the dogs couldn't 'get to' them but I could still watch what's happening.
There must be such people out there that could do that for you?

Look in the Yellow Pages for a beekeeper. They'll come and remove the swarm for you.

Google the Bee Keepers Association..they will refer you to someone locally who can help :)

I would go for the beekeepers association for information and hopefully beable to move them safely.

Lucky you!!!! I've planted all sorts of plants to encourage bees and butterflies as they are becoming rarer and rarer apparently.  Bee Keeper's Association are the way to go :-)
