Following a couple of recent threads about puppy farms/dealers/supermarkets I had to share this with you all. In this weeks edition of local free-ad paper an ad reads as follows:

WANTED - Most breeds of Pedigree puppies KC reg or (not) or pedigree only Some Large Breed considered. Phone for details.

I would have phoned, just to find out who was advertising, and to be very nosey and ask lots of questions then say I was reporting them to the K.C. and the breed clubs!!!! not that we do and it would not stop places like that, they make me sick. We have several near me who are bringing pups over from Ireland in his ad they say no sunday sales, so I gather thats when they meet the ferries bringing the pups over, and they are selling most breeds.

On an email list for my breed based in the USA, used a lot by rescue, they have a dog in rescue who originates from Ireland. The breeding is all pet names with no affix, and they have enough puppy farmed ones of their own!

gwen, you so obviously get the same free adds paper i get :) , im still getting over seeing the canadian champion in there too, -then theres all the bull crosses ,going for £300-£350, the irish staffords etc, it really needs some sort of check up before the adds are printed,

This used to be the regular type of advert placed in the local paper by a chap living around the Cardigan area some 25 years ago - it was bad then, and obviously hasn't improved any.
