{{{Big Hugs}}} zooming through cyber space to you.
My thoughts are with you, your son and family at this time.
When you feel up to it please let us know how he is getting on.
Much love xx
The police have been fantastic..they have someone in custody for the crime..they found the bottle (not a pint glass as originally thought) and have dna . they tried to talk to my son last night but he was too sedated so are going to try again today..my son will need help coming to terms with how he looks now as the injuries mean he will never be the same again. will update as i get more news. this is truely a case of being in the wrong place at the wrong time as my son would rather run away than get involved with a fight..
Makes me go cold all best wishes and healing thoughts to your son.#As a mum I know how you must feel, hope your OK?
Viv

Healing thoughts coming his way. What a horrible experience for you all. As said earlier there really are some evil people out there.

Well there is one huge positive that they have someone in custody for the crime - hope they get charged for the crime and found guilty in court or at least plead guilty and sent down for a long time. This is one very nasty attack from all accounts, and nothing like i have come across before.
Lets hope your son is a fighter in himself and will work with the medical staff and get through this with all the love and support of his friends and family, which he clearly has from you.
Sorry to read this inthemistuk, let us hope that you all get the support you need to overcome this trauma. Thinking of you........

I'm so sorry ,Inthemistuk. All my thoughts are with your boy and you. When he gets better, tell him that not everyone in the world is like the person who did this to him.Try to keep strong and
make sure the doctors help him with the emotional trauma as well as the physical. My heart goes out to your boy and youx

I dont know if this helps but my OH has a huge scar on his cheek which he got after being bottled when he was younger and worked the doors.
I've only seen pictures of when it was first done (i didnt know him then) and the scar did look red and noticeable. Over time it has faded but is still not very neat or tidy.
Nowadays plastic cosmetic surgery is so much more precise and although nobody wants to be scarred it really isnt anything to feel down about. I feel in love with my OH and admire the fact his face shows character and would love him regardless.
My thoughts really are with you and your son, thank goodness the police have caught someone - at least there is some justice.
It is a good idea to consider some sort of counselling.
Thankyou for your comments it helps an awful lot
the lowlife that did this appeared in court today..will know more later..Stephen is semi awake and talking now although he has not seen his injuries yet..he will need help coming to terms with them

inthemist i am so sorry :( i hope your boy recovers well. its amazing what surgeons can do now. i really hope he's ok.
i also hope that the person that did this gets the book thrown at him :(
i hope your ok as well, thinking of you and your family {{hug}}

Your poor son. I wish him all the best, and hope he finds the strength to cope with this awful thing. You also - it must be hard to stay strong and brave for him.

How horrible! Sending positive thoughts and prayers for his recovery

My heart goes out to you and your son. Healing thoughts definitely heading his way. I really hope you son is not too badly disfiguered, I agree that surgeon's can do wonderful things nowadays. Hopefully the emotional scars will not to be too great.

Just to offer some consolation - facial injuries always appear dreadful - two of my sons played rugby and on occasions, I have cried at the state of their faces when they have come home - but swelling and bruising does go down after a few days. I appreciate that your son has had to have reconstruction work done, but he shouldn't look half as bad in a couple of weeks time.

Keep strong, healing thoughts to you and your son. X
I know that you are a long way off this yet , but Bio-Oil is good for scarring and can be put on when he has healed . It seems expensive bit a little goes a long way .
My best wishes to him . X

I am so sorry to hear about your poor son. My thoughts are with him and of course you and the rest of the family.
I am pleased to learn that the police have got someone but I guess at the moment that is little comfort
.best wishes for a speedy recovery
hi and thankyou so much for all your comments they are really appreciated
I now know the whole story
my son and his friends were in Chester celebrating a birthday and were jumped by a gang of 6 asian men
from cctv footage they were seen hiding and lying in wait and my son and his friends were in the wrong place at the wrong time the men appeared in court today and as far as i am aware one of them was remanded in custody
Stephen is doing a lot better and should be home soon
he will be coming here to stay with us for a while so i can keep an eye on him
i am just glad he is alive although it could have so easily been so very much worse
thankyou so much once again for all your kind thoughts and comments
chelle x x x x and Stephen x

Try and get some sleep now,you must be exhausted.you can start again tomorrowx

That was very thoughtful and lovely post Fred's Mum :)
regards, Teri
Thanks Teri :-)
Is absolutely true. In a very strange sort of way i find it quite sexy, cant explain it but his face tells a story.
Nowadays im sure Stephen will be left with minimal scarring (fingers crossed) but it really isnt something he should let bother him.
Still got the fingers crossed for a speedy recovery & now hoping the 6 animals get the book thrown at them.

totally agree. my OH have tonnes of scars all over him because he has a medical condition that makes him heal badly, normal falls have far worse effect. i like them, they are interesting :)
as you say though surgery is so good these days any scaring should be slight
