Apologies for re-inventing this thread. Had my list all ready to post then computer got 'whisked' away to another location, now it's back I can't find all the posts (deleted?). Anyway some of my choices are being repeated on Sky at the mo; Ever decreasing circles, As time goes by, Citizen Smith, Tour of Duty (on yesterday) has very atmospheric music to go with it, Roots, but one I haven't ever seen repeated is Rich Man Poor Man with the then hunky Nick Nolte.

I used to love Butterflies - especially the one where she laid the table for tea on top of the dirty breakfast plates !

Many of my old favourites are repeated on channels anyway. Likely Lads, Only Fools and Horses, The Liverbirds, Faulty Towers, On The Buses, Steptoe and Son, so, so, many, my hubby would happily spend all day watching just the oldies. The only programme I pretty much know they won't ever bring back is Love Thy Neighbour, that was so funny in it's time, but too many minority groups would get in a flap about it today. Shame!

My parents had a hotel when Faulty Towers first arrived on our screens and we thought it was hilarious (unbelievably true to life!). But Only Fools and Horses has to be my favourite, especially the Batman and Robin one, or the one where Del falls through the open bar!  True TV Gold - could watch them all day!

There are quite a few things on that i couldn't stand when they were first on and i really enjoy now.I can't believe that i didn't like Dad's army and i couldn't watch Quincy or Will and Grace.I wish they'd show Rawhide again and Wagon Train, and the Streets of San Francisco.I didn,t like the Beverly Hillbillies much but now i'd like to see it again.

Never watched the Vicar of Dibley first time round but love it now.
- By poppity [gb] Date 21.05.09 19:09 UTC
Oh,the Vicar of Dibley had some hilarious scenes. The only ones i didn't like were the 2 comeback shows, especially the last one which was really crude without being funny.I still love the repeats of the GoodLife too-the cast is perfect.

I loved The Generation Game with Bruce Forsyth , used to be in stitches watching it. Wish they would repeat that!

Brucie was the master of that, wasn't he.I bet he didn't think he'd still be on prime time telly 40 odd years later-what a career he's had.

Oh i know , bless him. Can't stand it with Jim Davidson tho , just hasn't got the same spark about it!
- By poppity [gb] Date 21.05.09 20:48 UTC
I know exactly what you mean. He's not got the family appeal that Brucie has.Brucie's a national treasure now.Jim Davidson never will be.

All the old ones would be so interesting with Eamonn Andrews leaping out from doorways. There were all kinds of people featured then too.I remember them surprising Pauline Collins and her saying "I'm only 24!".All the women in the black and white ones had big, solid handbags like the queen, little hats and cocktail dresses.they were all terribly posh and stilted, but every week we were glued to the box waiting to see big stars and being disappointed if it was some m p or colonel or the likes.

Has anyone been watching the House of Elliot thats been showing on 'Yesterday' channel. It was the last episode last week but I've loved every minute of watching it again. Shame it had to end on such an odd note!! Something about a fire in the studios put an end to any more episodes.
I do like the old fashioned type programmes. So nostalgic. Not that I was around then. honest!!
