Has anyone got the Crocs scutes sandals?  Need something comfy for my holiday & these look good, but wondering if they are worth buying. Got the cayman ones, but never worn them, they look like barges on my feet......lol

There are a lot of the cheaper shoe outlets that are selling their own version at a fraction of the cost ;-)  I got my "cayman" lookylikies for £3 and will look at something more feminine for my summer holiday at the same shop.

I have the crocs and I just love them- I wear em as sandles and slippers in the house lol-

Gotta get another pair since hubby does not like me wearing them outside then inside the house....

Sports Direct are selling kids real Crocs for £10.00 and adults £15.00 at the moment . Caymans and another style without any holes in the top .
Get 'em while you can !

I find crocs soooo comfortable they're ideal for holidays ;-)  I use mine as slippers as well, just seen some croc boots half price on Amazon and i'm trying NOT to buy them :-D

I'm onto my 3rd pair, but they are so hard wearing!  I love 'em.  Find them extremely comfortable especially as I have a bit of a dicky hip and I find the crocs keep my posture and gait when walking more comfortable.
Just bought my 3rd pair in Australia, and comparitively still much cheaper than buying in the UK.
Wouldn't be without them.

I gave up with the Cayman ones for the same reasons as you.  The Scutes by virtue of their shape are bound to look smaller and you may be able to go down a size anyway as there is no toe to bump into.  Worth trying somewhere before you buy online perhaps

I wear the Off Road crocs as I find the solid toe cap (no holes) on these make them look smaller.  They are also more practical for standing in the garden in the rain with the dogs!!  I buy from Sweetfeet shoes...

Happy holiday :)

PS sell your caymans on eBay - the originals still get great prices as they last longer xxx

Thanks to everyone for their input, now all i need to do is find a pair of Scutes in size 6, i have tried EVERYWHERE, all sold out!!

How/where are you travelling on your holiday?

I bought my cheapest Crocs on the ferry back from Ireland several years ago - you might find them in the airports or overseas more easily.  You can ring the airport in advance to check stockists I think.

Good luck

just seen some croc boots half price on Amazon and i'm trying NOT to buy them resist as they are brilliant ! I will never go back to wellies again as you get back chuck them of into the washing machine and hey presto a nice clean pair to wear again ! They dry really quickly as well ! Off to have a look at Amazon now as might add a different colour to my collection  :-D

I'm going to stick my neck on the line here but...I'm really really sorry but I hate crocs! They are very unflattering & I find it bizarre they come in a zillion different colours & you can accessorise them with jewels!!

I'm sure they're very comfortable etc etc & each to their own but nope sorry you wouldn't catch me in a pair...
- By Granitecitygirl [eu] Date 19.05.09 08:40 UTC
I've only got my knock-offs for gardening :-)

I'll join you, gembo. I too think they're hideous, and what's more I find them uncomfortable as well.

Ohhh don't tempt me now, stop it :-D  Hopefully you'll have bought the last pair and they'll be sold out by the time i go back, LOL

Gembo, Jeangenie i honestly used to be a croc hater, as usually i'm a boot person (even in the summer, i hate my feet, LOL)  It was only last summer when somebody at a dog show recommended them and i thought hmm i'll give them a try, besides boots they're the only shoes i wear, think it's because i can't see my feet in them to much :-)
- By LJS Date 19.05.09 10:28 UTC
No they don't have my size as they only go up to size 5 I think !

We're going to Florida in Sept, so i need something really comfy for all the walking! Took normal sandals with me to Vegas 3 yrs ago & ended up with blisters the size of saucers, never again.  Gembo...i agree that most of the crocs are ugly, that's why i won't wear my Cayman ones...........lol  But the scutes look 'neater' so thought i might give them a try.

see now for my confession.. though I love the things (as previously stated) I do confess that I would never ever wear them in public.
They aren't particularly flattering (I have the Caymen variety), BUT I would still say for someone who prefers being barefooted above anything else, I do find them extremely comfortable...

ok confession over .....  :)

Must admit I feel likewise, ugly cloddy looking things.
- By Blue Date 20.05.09 11:48 UTC
There are not the most beautiful things but has Lucy says they are good for throwing in the machine. I wear a pair when I am trimming the dog as I hate any wee hairs getting in my shows. A quick wash and they are perfect. :-)
- By pavlova [gb] Date 20.05.09 15:24 UTC
I love my crocs I,ve got cayman ones for slopping round the house in, a pair of posh gold coloured mary jane ones that I never hardly took of on holiday and also a pair of bright green croc wellies that get covered in iron ore mud in the winter and after a quick little jolly in the washing machine come up as good as new.
Now someone has told me crocs are making lace up work shoes with non slip soles and I,m on the hunt for a pair of them.
- By Blue Date 20.05.09 15:26 UTC
in my shows,  err my Shoes :-)

I think crocs are like marmite, you either love em or hate them. Sadly I'm in the hate camp, my mum bought me a pair and I feel dead guilty for only wearing them once but I find them sooo uncomfortable. Saying that I have a lot of scar tissue on my heels from an old accident and find most footwear uncomfortable, so it's probably not the crocs fault :)
- By Ailsa [gb] Date 22.05.09 17:19 UTC
"Crocs Work - Velocity " are a lacing work shoe with slip resistant soles. They come in black or chocolate.

I have arthritis in one of my knees and find crocs are fab to help cushion my footsteps. So far prefer Cayman but also have mammoths to wear as slippers in the cold weather.

Plan to try the Velocity ones. Less local shops seem to be stocking crocs now so it seems to be a case of guessing the size (the different croc styles seem to vary in sizes) and order online.

i love wearing crocs - they are just so comfy but I agree that they are the ugliest footwear imaginable - however comfort wins out here I'm afraid :-D

Have you seen the crocs sassari?! They are not bad looking and so comfortable!!!
- By craigles Date 26.05.09 06:19 UTC
My hubby bought a cheap pair from Primark of all places a few weeks ago and wears them as bivvy slippers (fisherman) he loves them and may go on to invest in the real deal.  Worth buying a cheap pair to see if they're suitable for purpose required?

me too...I love going barefoot(its the aging hippie in me lol ) but i have to say Crocs are the most comfortable shoes ive ever worn....never had them off my feet since I got mine at Crufts this year however.....I have to admit this is where we differ Tessies Tracey lol..... I wear mine in public lol mainly because they are so comfy i cant be bothered to change them for my shoes
- By Teri Date 26.05.09 11:01 UTC
I love my crocs - thought they were the ugliest things I'd ever seen when mine arrived (bought them online so the 'full' picture didn't quite do them 'justice' :-D ) but have to say they are the most comfortable things I've ever worn and I frequently forget I have them on.

I use them for virtually all dog walks and love the fact that I can go into the sea with the dogs knowing my toes are safe from crabs and shingle.

Better than slippers (OK, not looks wise, but who cares :-p )
