soo, what do we all think? how does everyone like the new voyagers of the star treck enterprise?

personally i really enjoyed it. i think they have cast it really well, particularly Bones, though the film is a little light on plot its clearly just ment to set up for a few sequels and it did so well :)

I saw Star Trek last week and really, really enjoyed it - taking my 13 year old son to see it on Saturday morning - thought it was worked really well and will def be getting it when it comes out on DVD.

Loved it...went last night and enjoyed it very much. But as you say was a little light. :-)

The title of this thread should really have been:

"It's life Jim!.....but not as we know it"  ;)

(I'm really looking forward to seeing this film, but Im not a purist....and am still in love with Jean Luc Picard..Rrrrrrrrr!)

I am going to see this tomorrow on my day off. Really looking forward to it I am not a purist....I like Star Trek, TNG, Voyager and now eventually getting into Deep Space 9. Can't get into Enterprise though.....but looking forward to this one.

Live long and Prosper

> am still in love with Jean Luc Picard

i'm a little partial to.

i'm not a purist either but am sitting with a full on trekie chum tonight who says that its spot on and has many little things for the truely devoted :)

did you hear how they tested the film to see if folk would like it? they went to Texas, land of the trekie convention, and arranged a viewing of The Wrath of Khan at a cinema so a bunch of proper fans turned up. they made the film fail when it was just starting causing uproar till Leonard Nemoy walked out with a reel and asked if they would rather watch it instead lol :)

Wow really I would have brought a ticket from Birmingham England to Texas USA if I had known.............now thats a brilliant idea...............

I can't wait to see it!  But I'm at SKC this weekend.  Until then, must make do with this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xga_wchTpW8

How amazing would it have been to see it like that? :-D  Gotta love Leonard Nemoy.

Jean Luc Picard and Vin Diesel are the only two men who are allowed to be bald in my book - normally I have a chronic aversion to baldness ;-)

Loved it and I'm in no way a Trekkie , highly recommeded. :-D

Really want to see this - must say I am fascinated by Zacchary Quinto (sp?)  Love his eyebrows!  He has presence!  - I am a Heroes fan of course.  Have always been a Trekkie.  Patrick Stewart is my big favourite too - somehow William Shatner just didn't have it!   Can't go to watch the film by myself - tried to interest hubby but I know what it will be - snide remarks about why are his ears an odd shape or loud snores - which he did when I dragged him to watch Lord of the Rings.

he's very good in it, spot on.

the one that kind of stole it for me though was 'Bones' McCoy, he's not got a huge part but the guy that played him is (i think) just like a young version of the original (perhaps a touch taller?), theres just something about the way he holds his mouth or something thats so like the original.

i imagine there were some pretty excited trekkies that evening :) and leonard nemoy is awesome, he's great in it as well.

If you liked LOTR then you should love Star Trek - Karl Urban who played Eomer is cast as Bones and he's brilliant, he's got great screen prescence and hopefully this will be his breakout film.

Watching Star Trek has reminded me of just how much I like him as an actor so we're having a LOTR weekend (after I've seen Star Trek again on Saturday - taking my 13 year old to see it).

I was raised on star trek, red dwarf and star wars :-D  I don't think I'd go so far to dress up like some of the hard core fans out there, but I am most certainly going to see it this weekend.  I'm so excited just thinking about it!  Leonard Nemoy made Spock, I don't think for one moment that Spock made Leonard Nemoy (like some characters on tv)

Karl Urban??? Raaarrrrrrrr!!!! *drool* *drool* *drool*  I love Doom with him in it.
