ive just returned from my regular stint at the dogs home, and thought Id share one of the new residents hapless tale with you. he was reported for barking all day by a neighbour in a city flat, and when the warden went to look he found a 15 year old min poodle, with a muzzle on (the owner had though that would stop it barking all day while she was at work!) and a nappy on (because she had never house trained it!). Its now looking for a forever home. Personally im not sure I would be trying to rehome a dog that age but thats a seperate issue. needless to say its had a miserable life and never been out of the flat!!!

What a shame, is the person being prosecuted for neglect? What a horrible life the poor little fella has led.  Sad thing is he won't be alone, it breaks my heart when you see/hear of animal neglect, there's no excuse for it.

Absolutely, there is never a need to neglect or ill treat, if they dont want them re-home them, though why these people get them in the first place just baffles me to be honest, how sad for this poor old dog :(

Why don't people think that a dog barks and poos before they get it??  Poor lamb, 15 years like that!  Some people's behaviour really is beyond me :-(

Will the dogs home have any contact with ' Poodles In Need '  as they may be able to find it an experienced home as i know they have a waiting list ?
Poor little  lamb - i hope it finds a forever home soon ( for however long it's got left ).

I cant imagine what the poor dog must have looked like knowing how difficult it is to keep a min poodle in an ok condition (not even show standard)!! Its fur must have been awful after being subjected to wearing nappys.
terrible, i feel so sad

Ahhhhhhhhh.... poor thing.

Is the poodle now in a kennel at the dogs home? If it is, I agree with your point there. To be honest would that not do more harm than good. This is an old dog/bitch whose lived it's life in a flat and never been out? It must be terrified now in a kennel with dogs barking all around it, no longer in it's home and in a strange place, poor things heart must be racing, the nappy some owners with old dogs do use due to incontinance, all day every day a big no and perhaps the silly owner desperately wishing to keep the dog and having lots of complaints was misguided in using the muzzle, just putting things on the flip side. Both quite cruel in themselves but I hope that the owner was given a chance to explain and maybe turn things around before the dog was seized, it's lived to be 15 so far so it is obviously cared for in other ways.

I hope that the dog has a happy ending, I would hate it to spend it's last years in a dogs home and maybe ending up being pts, part of me thinks it may have lived longer where it was with a few major changes.

Poor little soul, hope they can find a home for him.

To me this is worse than the other case being mentioned on here at the moment.  This woman just couldn't be bothered the other guy has a health problem of which I think we British and especially the medical people of the UK ignore!
