I'm hoping to take on another dog next year--a saluki who by the time he comes to us will be 10 months old. We live in a rural village and the field behind us has just been occupied by sheep. We already have two dogs who have to stay on the lead anywhere near the house just in case they find a way of slipping into the field--we either walk out or drive to places where they can run free. Much as I want to have another saluki, I am worried about letting him run off the lead. Are there other Lancashire sight hound owners with this problem, and what have you done to solve this? or am I mad to go ahead without a fenced paddock for him?
