Popped round to the corner shop for papers and there was a little shaggy haired (bitch) being mated by the biggest, blackest and ugliest (sorry but he was) dog I have ever seen. Went in the shop and told the owner whose only comment was "not again, I've only just got rid of the last pup from the last lot". Wouldn't dare write the thoughts I had, but did suggest she take her to a vet to get speyed. Probably won't ever happen. Poor girl.
What a nightmare, you'd think this women would be doing anything she could to stop another litter of pups if she's only just got rid of the last lot and so unfair on the bitch. i'd be tempted to have a word with the RSPCA and just ask whether they can have a word with her about spaying her dog. maybe they can't but it's worth a go.
I'd also have a word with the Dog Warden, they like giving talks on neutering. From speaking to our local ones through my work they have said that they are on a campaign to get Staffy's done this year free of charge and its going to be highly promoted. I guess they have the most problems with this breed in our area by means of doing this. Worth though contacting both to see what they say.
you'd think that this kind of thing didn't happen anymore, wouldn't you?why do some silly people have animals if they can't be bothered caring for them.poor little dog condemned to go through this again and again.it's nothing short of neglect-is there anyone to report this kind of thing to?
Feel terrible saying this and please don't anyone take offence, but ordinarly I would cross to the other side of the street if these people walked toward me. Just felt I had to say something. Have to say though that the dog was not scruffy, dirty or looked underfed by anymeans.
Will try the dog warden on Monday and the SSPCA and see what they say. Though I know the area they live in but not which street, might not be a lot they can do.
what were the owners of the male dog thinking too.was he off the lead?they should have been keeping him under control and not allowing him to get near that little dog.
Owners of the male dog wouldn't know if it was in or out, it is an open door dog. It doesn't wear a collar so unless it was followed no one would know who it belongs to.
Just as there are all types of dogs there are all types of owners.
