my jack russell is 5yrs old and goes in for surgery friday morning.he has both of his testicles retained.you can see where thay are.can anyone tell me the risk of this surhery?

thats odd that he is five and no one noticed this before? there is a risk with all surgery which is why you have to sign a consent form, but its a minor risk. most ops are fine

dont be scared, vets are professionals at this sort of op and its quite minor

My gsd had a retained testicle in his abdomen although it was obviously more complicated than a straight castration and needed an  insicion
in his tummy  his recovery was quick and straight forwar. Infact you would hardly have known after the first day there was anything done if it wasnt for the buster collar. Dont worry as Tina says if you have a vet you are happy with they know what they are doing. 

Thank you so much.his are actually beside his wewe so i hope it wont be that bad.everyone is making me feel better.i am just nerveus because I lost my dog of 18yrs and i got this one a mth later from a friend to help with my loss.i have had him since he has been 3wks old.(he is my rotten baby boy)I will let everyone know how he does woth his surgery.

thanks to everyone for your kind words.jake came through surgery just fine .he has two cuts one on each side of his wewe.But the vet said he will be just fine and dandy.
