Sorry to ask such a boring question but I don't know anyone who can help and I am sure someone on Champdogs can use this programme.  What I want to do is put in a formula that will calculate 40% of one column plus 60% of another column so if col A had the figure 50 in it and column B had 70 the answer in column c would come out as 62.  I have tried =(a*40%+b*60%) but this is obviously rubbish (I have no idea what I am doing).  I need to copy the formula down the column so it will do the same to every row.
If anyone can help I will be very grateful!!
Thank you

the formula is :

=+(A1*0.4)+(B1*0.6)

Help this helps

If you copy and paste down it should change the 1 to the relevant row.

=SUM(A1*40%+B1*60%)

=SUM(A1*40%)+B1*60%

This will work and replicate it down the rows.  Several ways of writing the sum using BODMAS and BIDMAS ruling.

Both others above work too, hope it helps and not confused you! xx

Just a tip, if you do any formula take your mouse to the corner of the cell and drap it down it will drop the formula into all the cells.
