Had my two girls at Ripon Obedience show today. first show we've done this year and my eldest girl Tara came 3rd in Beginners. I am sooo proud of her as ours aren't the easiest breed to motivate in the working ring. For her first outing in 6 months I am so chuffed. 3rd out of about 22, and she was leading for most of the day being fourth into the ring. :o) :o)
Just need to get her daughter, Safi, more motivated, especially in heelwork. anyone got any ideas!!??
She was in 8 or 9th position at the end but placing go only up to 6th place, so no rossy for her.

Brilliant I was judging A part 3 at Ripon.

Motivation-food & more food & teaching to touch. However you have TTs I think ? a weekend course with Maria Carter the Small dog specialist night help she's very motivational

Well done, I know how hard it is to be placed in obedience. It's great to see a different breed having a go. My last girl was not particularly food orientated, so I used play, play and more play. The thing I found that was most precious to her, was a knotted sports sock. She used to go barmy when he popped out of my pocket to play. At first her excitement was OTT, but I didn't mind this and once she had calmed a little, she would work her socks off for a tug game.
