Just an idea which i know will probably never happen, but like to think about these things..

If i were to want to travel the States for a good few months on the road, i would take my dogs. I then get about thinking that it would be awesome to show my dogs out there as well. Just wondered how easy is it to register your dogs with the AKC and how accepting they would be for a Brit to attend shows and handle for themselves??

Obviously if i were to do this i would need to endorsements lifted from the pedigrees for them to be able to be registered over there, if the breeders agree..

Thank you for that, much appreciated.. Another forum to become addicted to??

Will have to see how my boys do over here first, one is coming on and the other a pup and then the breeders have to like my idea if i ever decide to do that..

Just back from judging at 3 allbreed shows there back to back. There are lots of shows over there so finding plenty will be easy. The numbers are similar to our open shows, the ones I did the highest entry was 1300 (and that is considered a fairly big show). Some can have just 400 dogs. Handlers may dominate the BIS rings, but plenty of owners handling. Presentation is pretty good, but type varied from breed to breed, and of course most judges are all rounders. Some breeds with just 1 or 2 dogs entered, some with none, but the shows are well run and enjoyable.
