Hi Jo,
I'll be there with my boys on the same day. If you see a few Berner puppies come over and say hello. Think the breeder should be popping down with her 2 girls she has kept, if you only see the one, it'll be me with my boy!!!
Good luck to anyone who is going next weekend..

It was lovely last year, if not a little too hot for my boy, though we found the tent with the med food and hid in there and proceeded to buy a huge amount of food!!!

If not KC registered then you would have to go to the companion/fun dog shows which are held at village shows and also for charity. This show at Ardingly is for KC reg dogs and we've registered and paid to show in advance. It won't stop you bringing in your dogs to the ground but they wouldn't be able to go in the ring.

Oh and Ardingly is in West Sussex, just seen your profile which says you're in Cardiff area.

I've been to Ardingly many times, but never for this particular show. Was just wondering, as it's a spring garden show, is the traffic towards Ardingly horrendous - i.e. should I allow a lot more time to get there than I normally do?
Thanks! :)

The show people are usually settled by the time the garden show visitors arrive, id allow a little longer than usual to be on the safe side.
Thanx anyway! Im trying to find dog shows for non kc dogs, but I havnt come across any :-( Any ideas how to find them?thanx x

Anyone have the order of running of this show, just wondered where the Bernese are in the order.
Last year we were second in the ring, turned up and the breed before us, well none of that breed turned up. Think that there were very few pups for our breed so i was suddenly unprepared and had to be in the ring, managed to get a VHC for my troubles in a class of about 11, which was PG and my boy was only just in junior himself. I hate being rushed, puts me and the dogs off balance.
Don't recall being a huge queue to get in, dog show exhibitors park in a different area to the gp, we got there early enough so i thought, but i didn't experience any hold ups.
Fingers crossed the weather holds out.

Keira, try going on OurDOgs website and look for companion shows and DogWorld for any advertised.
Many local pet shops advertise local charity ones as well. Also your FridayAd have some in too.
Local village fetes tend to have them - again they are advertised.

How did people do at this show??
Got a surprise when i got in, they moved Bernese to 1st in the ring, typical...Well at least i arrived early enough not to feel rushed..

Got a 2nd in post grad, very pleased. It's been a long time coming but I think that having had 3 placings in a week, Lola is finally maturing and coming good :) Her litter sister got 1st in post grad and BOB.
Lovely show, really enjoyed it and so did the kids!

We managed 3rd in Graduate, the winner of this class got BOB at just over 12 months old and beat his father who won the open class.. Way to go!!!
I hear you about maturing and coming good, my boy is 2 and is still slowly getting there..
Bosley had a greatish day and saw his sister litter mates.. Did anyone see the Berner puppies?

Well done to all!! weather wise , shame about the wind at times.

Jo, Just realised who got BOB, your breeder.
She is local to me and i sometimes attend the same ringcraft as her.. I did actually congratulate her as well.. Funny memory i have at times..
Well done on your placing as well..

Thanks Toolz :) Whatever the future brings, we've have learned HEAPS over the past year. But yesterday's result really was quite something for me, my breeder said I handled like a pro, and that means a lot. I even got called back in the ring for RBOB but it ended up going to the other contender. I was SO chuffed! Still grinning :)

How funny Sue :) Small world and all that. While hanging around (we were 6th in ring) I was trying to remember what dogs I was supposed to be looking out for from CD but I was too preoccupied with going in the ring to relax my brain enough to remember LOL
Well done on your placing :)
>Well Done Jo - Lola is looking good from her photos!!
Thanks :) See you at LHCBC Open? Or Southern Counties?
