after the enormous success of my eurovision night last year we've desided thats what our house warming is going to be this time but i want to make it more themed than "lets watch eurovision, take the mick and get drunk!!"

i am going to make food, so can anyone make suggestions (i am desperate for filling recipes for pierogi if anyone likes their polish food?) and suggestions of other european food?

also i have a map and was thinking we could do our own scoring- suggestions for silly categories?

I used to have Eurovision parties - lol.  Food wise the choice is endless - just party food or proper grub?  If finger food then sausages cover most euro nations, you could do a baklava for dessert (Greece, Turkey, most of the Balkans), ice cream (Italy), Chocolate (Belgium) etc.  A cheese from every nation might work with the wine from all of 'em of course :D

For categories you have to have a Best/Worst dressed one!  Best dramatic interpretation, Best Hairstyle, Most Political Scoring Country (difficult one that).  You could do a sweep on the winner, if you have enough people to cover all the countries with a prize of the naffest sourvenir from one of the competitors.

I'm getting all excited now! :D

top ideas :D i particularly like "most dramatic interpretation"

for food i was thinking baklava (oh i love them so!), cheeses, pate, biscuits, olives, yorkshire puds, garlic bread, black bread, i might do meatballs and jam and pierogies- i've a polish friend who says he will be so impressed if i can make these. i really need filling ideas though!

i do have a top notch italian ice cream recipe actually...

sounds like fun, I like the idea of a cheese from each nation. Don't forget a tapas dish for spain, yum yum paella!
