Hi ALL

A quick question about my pup - 10 weeks old and toy breed.
We have been gardening for the last few evenings and she has been pottering around with us eating bits of soil and attempting to eat a worm before we removed it.
She has been sick last night and tonight- both nights within twenty mins of coming in and has the runs- tiny specks of red blood in poo.
Her eyes and nose are clear and she is running around looking healthy- should I be worried?
She is due for 2nd vac at vet on Monday so hadn't planned to go sooner unless she gets worse.
I have ordered a puppy panel to block the are off which I hope will come in a few days

I was going to ask a simular question .I have an 8 week old mini dax, and we to  have been gardening and I have seen her eating dandelions and daisies,doesnt seem to have any ill effects from it ,I do try and deter her from doing this but you cant watch them all the time.I dont think they are harmful.Does anybody know if they are?

Neither plant is on the dogs trust list of toxic palnts.  I was given the list by my trainer but I expect you can get one directly from them or maybe on their site. Hope thats of helps

Yes thanks for that.Didnt think they were toxic.But when I was at school many moons ago we kids used to say if you smell a dandelion you would wet the bed.Wonder if its the same if you eat them.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Pups of this age who are vomiting and having diarrhoea should be seen by a vet the   dehydration can be very quick and can cause death. Please do not leave it till Monday

Yes. They are traditionally used as a herbal diuretic. In France the plant is known as Pis-en-Lit ("wet-the-bed") for that very reason. :-)

Hi I have monitored her all day and kept her out of the garden and she is fine. I need the panel to arrive soon to stop her getting in the bedded plants.
No more vomiting - stolls still a bit soggy but not dreadful
