I know there's quite a few avid readers on CD - Fopp have all of Phillipa Gregory's books (author of The Other Boylen Girl) for £2 at the moment!

I've read two of her books & have thoroughly enjoyed them both so I've just invested in 4!! Hopefully they won't have me in tears like Racing in the Rain did!

She writes about women during Henry VIII's reign, highly recommended, pretty sure Astarte is a fan!! :)

Well we could do with a follow up to discuss WHEN we finish talking about Racing in the Rain.  - We haven't started yet!  I have started 'The Reader' because I didn't see the film.  Won't take long to read - it isn't a very long book.

I too am about a third of the way through The Reader, wanted to read the book before I saw the film! Maybe that could be our next book to discuss I would imagine plenty of people have read the book or seen the film!

lol i am indeed, good memory. i like her historical accuracy as i am a bit of a history geek :)

i've actually not long finnished "The Other Queen" which is about Mary Queen of Scots and it is very good. "The Constant Princess" is also very good, in fact they all are a good read.

on a similar vein Allison Weir is very good who does similar things, both factual and historical fiction- i really enjoyed "Innocent Traitor" which is about Jane Grey
