Topic Dog Boards / Health / Border T has 3 fits!
- By kenya [gb] Date 21.04.09 13:00 UTC
A friend of mine, has just been on the phone, her Border T bitch aged 5, has started fitting, she has had 3 in the space of 2 weeks, for no reson, she sleeps in a crate overnight, and twice she has fitted in there, she has been crated since she was 8weeks old.
The other fit was when the family were watching TV, the Vets have taken Bloods, and they are all clear, she is on Epilese, but she is like a Zombie, they have a app at the Vets on Monday again, she did say the bitch is suffering from a phantom pregnancy, and has never had one before.
Anybody have any ideas???

It is possible that the phantom pregnancy has caused it - seizures are be caused by stress (either physical or mental).  My mum was on anti-epilepsy meds when we were young but stopped taking them due to the fact she was worse on them than off them.  Has the vet given her anything to stop the phantom as perhaps there could be side effects there?  Was the epilese only recently prescribed?  As the vet should really do more tests, and wait until the phantom is out of the way, before prescribing something that strong (just due to the fact that fits are caused by so many things).  JMO.
