Not mine although this time next year I'll be planning it :) :)

I'm going to a friend's Hen Party on Saturday night, she's not really into clubbing etc so we're having a night of tapas, cocktails & girly gossip at her mum's house.  As a bit of a surprise I've put together a scrap book of her 'single years', have had some really embarassing photos sent & I was thinking of putting together a soundtrack to reflect her growing up.  She was born in 1981 & I've got a few good ones to put on there I remember e.g. Tiffany - I think we're alone now but I was wondering if any of you helpful people knew of any big songs you remember that were around from say 1986-1999.  I'm going to have a look at the track listings of some Now That's What I Call Music albums on Amazon for some ideas too.

She says she doesn't want any hen night tat so strippers are out of the question as are butlers in the buff ( ;) my idea google it :) ), but I think we should dress her up in some hen night regalia so L plates etc but where do I buy these from cheaply?  I was thinking Claire's Accessories, I know Ann Summers do some stuff like this but it's not cheap, someone mentioned Poundland too, do they sell stuff like that?!

Hope you can help & keep your suggestions clean & if they're not PM me!!! :) ;)

Our local Poundshop (not the chain one) sells loads of stuff like that. L Plates, hats, streamers, sashes etc. It all gets thrown away at the end of the night so no point in buying from more expensive shops.
One of my pals ended up dressed in HUUUGGE jammie bottoms with a pillow stuffed in them like a fake tummy, big false boobs, hat, feather boa, tied to a lamp post.

The school I went to was next to a large joiners and whenever one of the guys were getting married they ended up 1/2 naked, tied to a post covered in glue, sawdust and wood shavings!! Poor guys.

Sounds like a fun night!  I was going to suggest Claire's Accessories for hen night things.  How about eBay?

As for music, I've put down a few suggestions below:

Duran Duran - Rio, Hungy Like The Wolf, Wild Boys
Spandau Ballet - Gold, True
Culture Club - Karma Chamelion
ABC - The Look of Love
Michael Jackson - Thriller, Billie Jean
Bananarama - Venus
David Bowie - Let's Dance
Kim Wilde - Kids in America
The Proclaimers - 500 Miles
Hue & Cry - Labour of Love
Deacon Blue - Dignity
Huey Lewis & The News - Power of Love
Kylie Minogue - I Should Be So Lucky
Tina Turner - Simply The Best

As you can guess, I'm an 80s chick at heart!

How about playing the knicker game ? everyone going has to buy a pair of knickers which says something about them and the hen has to guess who bought what knickers - drinking forfeit everytime she gets it wrong ;)

Ooooh! knicker game :-)  I like that, must remember that one for my own Hen Night.

Some card shops do hen night packages so its got the tiara, veil, l plates, flashy badge etc - may be worth having a look?

Was thinking, she sounds a bit like me with not wanting any of the hen night tat, though to be honest you mention L Plates and the like, to me that it tat(no offence) and wouldn;t be my cup of tea. - Just a thought after she has mentioned this as well, even though it's tradition.

The photo/picture album is a great idea and so is the music, but games i think are an aweseom way to go, maybe ones which entail dare games as well. Can just see the knicker game extending out into the street

Someone else should be able to come up with more games as well, try amazon or ebay, they should have some interesting ones to think about buying.

She's mentioned not wanting a lot of fuss but the only thing she's said we absolutely cannot do is hire a stripper, plus I know her quite well & putting on a feather boa, tiara & wearing L plates for a few hours will give her a giggle (& the rest of us!) Poundland game up trumps!

I've put together the scap book, me & OH were up until gone midnight him scanning & printing with me sticking, cutting & gluing - gotta admit though I think it looks pretty darn good, it's in order too if you know what I mean - baby photos, school, holidays, girls night outs ending on a lovely one of her & her hubby to be! I've also included some blank emboisselled sp? paper for people to write messages on during the day on Saturday.

Now it's time to make a go of the soundtrack, gonna be spending a bit on itunes tonight i think & digging out my 80's greatest hits album!

Anyone know of any good games we can play? I might suggest we do the kiss marry push of a cliff thing as a laugh, dare games are always good too after a few drinks for courage!

I've got a card game called Marry, Date or Dump - it should come up on an internet search engine.  Good fun if you have a lot of giggly girls :-)
