Our girls , one sheltie and one rough collie wont wont do the toilet once out , will wait until we get home. It is so annoying .. esp when you want to take them away.

Any ideas please ?

Don't think there is anything much you CAN do. I have one like this and she can go 18 hours or more if we've been to a show for instance. I thought we'd cracked it once when we had gone to Northern Ireland and was staying overnight and she eventually had no choice BUT to go,  but she went back to the same afterward.

i had a bitch like this once , when we went to cornwall for two weeks it took her nearly two days to go and she went while she chased the children into the sea
the look of relief on her face and i thought that is it we cracked it, but when we got back home she went back to her old ways,
i used to worry about it but the vet assured me she would go eventually when the need was great and she did,

Hi, I used to have a bitch that would not do her toilet anywhere other than at home on her own grass.
My OH cut turf from our garden and put it on a tray that I took with me to dog shows for her to use.

Our problem is the opposite. Our GR will only do the business on strange ground and will hold on untill taken out. Great for our home ground to be kept clean but not so good when the weather is not so good and you would prefer to put off the walk till later.

I had this with my first bitch.   I saved a newspaper and used it to soak up her wee in the garden and then put it in a ziplock plastic bag to take to a show.   when the time came for a wee, she wouldn't go as usual so I threw the newspaper on the ground and hey presto!  :-D
